The Best of Alaska with National Geographic and Lindblad!
Indulge your inner explorer on this compact, six-day/five-night expedition along the untamed coastal landscapes of Alaska’s Inside Passage. This pristine wilderness is home to a rich Tlingit culture, an enduring frontier spirit, and a panoply of wildlife—from high-flying eagles and tail-fluking whales to salmon-fishing bears. Hike through forests of towering trees, kayak in glacier-carved fjords, and raft from an ancient Alaska native village.
On this trip, we explore this pristine wilderness aboard our 62-passenger, nimble National Geographic Sea Lion expedition ship and set out in zodiacs for up-close encounters with glaciers and all sorts of birds and critters. Though you may have seen Alaska’s glaciers and wildlife from a distance on a large cruise, you will feel like you are in the middle of a National Geographic show on this smaller vessel, experiencing it up close. You’ll be watching icebergs float by and hear the thunderous roar as well as feel the ripples of waves, after a glacial calving.
But there’s more! Onboard naturalists will educate us about wildlife as we watch for whales, dolphins, and killer whales. Kayak or paddleboard along the rugged coast, search for bears and a variety of birds (including the bald eagle); hike through forests; capture beautiful orange, pink and purple lighting (and maybe a rainbow!) reflecting on the water and in the skies; breathe in the fresh, clean air and experience the peacefulness, privilege and gratitude of being surrounded by all of this precious wilderness. A National Geographic/Lindblad-trained photographer will be on board to help you capture these shots with your phone, camera or more professional camera!
