Beyond its culinary delights, Kyoto is famous for its numerous Buddhist temples, gardens, imperial Shinto shrines, traditional wooden houses and geisha entertainers.

  • Day 2Takamatsu, Japandock / overnightThursday, Apr 1, 20277 am - 6 am

The main gateway to Shikoku Island, and an important focal point for the island’s rail and road transit systems, Takamatsu, on Japan’s scenic Inland Sea, has been a political and economic center since the Edo period. Among the attractions here is Ritsurin Garden, created during the Edo period, and especially popular during spring for the cherry blossoms. Takamatsu Symbol tower has several observation decks providing panoramic views of the sea and landscapes.

Depart Takamatsu at 6 am on Friday, April 2.

  • Day 3Tomonoura, JapananchorFriday, Apr 2, 202711:30 am - 6 pm

Tomonoura is a picturesque coastal town that feels like stepping back in time. Known for its beautifully preserved streets and breathtaking views of the Seto Inland Sea, this charming destination has inspired countless artists and filmmakers. This picturesque port city is one of Windstar’s iconic hidden harbors. Tomonoura is part of the Setonanikai National Park and features an endearing old-fashioned townscape. One of its thriving industries is the production of “homeishu”, a medicinal liquor with 16 different herbs in it, said to promote longevity. With its tranquil atmosphere and rich cultural heritage, Tomonoura is a serene and unforgettable stop on your journey.

  • Day 4Hiroshima, JapandockSaturday, Apr 3, 20277 am - 5 pm

Hiroshima is a city of resilience, history, and hope, offering a profound experience for visitors. Known for its exquisite Karatsu-yaki pottery, the town offers visitors a chance to explore its thriving art scene. Karatsu castle is the main attraction here. Built in 1608, it houses a museum of the castle’s history and Karatsu ceramics.

  • Day 6Busan, South KoreadockMonday, Apr 5, 20277 am - 5 pm

Visit the lively Jagalchi Fish Market, where you can savor the freshest seafood in the country. Also of interest is South Korea’s largest temple, Tongdosa Temple, renowned for having no outdoor statues. The museum tells the story of the events leading up to the bombing and the park, located at the center of the bomb blast, houses a beautiful 30-foot-tall fountain symbolizing peace. Surrounded by stunning coastal views and rolling hills, Nagasaki is a city that captivates the heart and mind, offering a meaningful and enriching experience.

For early risers, enjoy a scenic cruise past Hashima Island, abandoned over 50 years ago when the coal mining that flourished suddenly ran out. The mining company shut the mine down and the island has been a ghost town ever since. Scenic cruising will be approximately from 6 am to 7:30 am before docking at Nagasaki.

It is not customary or expected to tip in Japan. In fact, offering a tip in Japan can sometimes be considered rude or confusing. This cultural difference stems from Japan’s emphasis on providing excellent service as a standard rather than incentivized through additional payment. Instead, we encourage you to learn these key Japanese phrases:

Arigatou gozaimasu (Thank You); Subarashii service deshita (The service was wonderful).

    Internet and Mobile Phones

Wifi plans are available onboard for your laptop or mobile devices. Pricing will be posted on board.

    Laundry and Dry Cleaning

Laundry and pressing services are available onboard. Dry cleaning is not available. Check onboard for pricing.

    Medical Services

There is an onboard infirmary. Medical services are an additional fee.

    Money: On-Board Purchases

All purchases made on the ship will be charged to your onboard account, which you create when you first check in. All charges will be billed in US dollars. Please check with the front office onboard for further details.

    Phone

Each cabin has a phone which you may use to call cabin-to-cabin, and to the various onboard facilities. There is an additional fee to use this phone to call outside the ship; cost is available on board. We recommend using WhatsApp or FaceTime to make phone calls via wifi.

    Smoking policy

All indoor areas onboard, including cabins and verandas, are non-smoking, including vaping. Outdoor public smoking areas will be posted.

    Spa Services

The onboard WindSpa offers facials, massages, and many other services for an additional fee.

  • After Your Trip

Disembarkation will begin once the ship has cleared customs and can be as early as 9 am.
