To Cruise or Resort? That Is the Question!

To Cruise or Resort? That Is the Question!

Which Olivia Vacation Is Right for You?

When it comes to choosing your next Olivia vacation, we know the real question isn't "Where should I go?" it's "Do I want to unpack once on land or at sea?"  Whether you're dreaming of toes in the sand at a beachfront resort or watching the waves go by while sailing into a new port, both Olivia Cruises and Resorts offer exciting vacation experiences with different flavors of fun. Let’s break it down.

🚢 Cruises: A Floating Festival of Fun

Every day is a new destination, with the Olivia magic sailing along with you as you glide to your next amazing experience. Cruises are part travel, part entertainment, and 100% community.

Pros:

  • Multiple ports, one suitcase. Wake up in a new place without ever packing and unpacking again.
  • Community immersion. With everyone onboard together, connections build fast and run deep.
  • Bucket list check marks. Cruises tend to cover more exotic and far-flung destinations, and the diversity of ports means you'll often come home having visited several notable destinations.

Cons:

  • The motion of the ocean. It's not for everyone!
  • Tighter quarters. Cruise cabins are cozy, and while smartly designed, space is at more of a premium than at a resort.
  • Not everything is included. Cruise guests have to decide if they want to pay for special packages for things like wifi and beverages.

🌴 Resorts: Stay-in-One-Place Paradise

Think tropical sunsets, laid-back luxury, poolside laughs, beachside frolicking, Olivia entertainment, and a home base you never have to leave (unless you want to). Olivia resorts are all-inclusive playgrounds where everything you need is steps away.

Pros:

  • All-Inclusive means all-inclusive.  Our resort prices include the week's worth of food and drink and free Wi-Fi.
  • Bigger rooms. Resorts often offer more spacious accommodations with patios, bathtubs, and sometimes even swim-up suites.
  • Come & go as you please.   Just you, your flip-flops, and an ocean breeze. Want to spend a whole afternoon lounging in a cabana? Want to go for it with pool games and beach olympics? Just do it. Everything is at your fingertips. You can opt in or out of as much as you'd like without feeling FOMO.
  • The ability to go deeper.  Staying in one place for a week gives you the opportunity to get to know the landscape and the culture more than you can when you only have a day to explore.

Cons:

  • There you are!  If you’re someone who craves completely new scenery daily, staying put might feel a bit too still. Of course, you always have the option of going on excursions off-resort!
