How to Become an Olivia Group Leader: Bring Your Friends and Travel Together
How do I Become an Olivia Group Leader?
Have you dreamed of getting a group of friends together for an Olivia vacation? Maybe you're the glue that keeps everyone connected—or the spark who is always saying, "We should all travel together!"
Becoming an Olivia Group Leader lets you turn that idea into a vacation while earning rewards along the way. Choose an eligible Olivia vacation, gather your group—including at least two New Olivians—and work with an Olivia Travel Consultant to get everyone registered. Your group receives special savings, and you can earn credits toward a future Olivia vacation.
Being an Olivia Group Leader is about more than organizing a trip. Think of the last time you walked into a room and instantly knew you were with your people. That's what you're helping create when you lead an Olivia group. Bring your friends, chosen family, local meetup, softball team, book club, or the people you only get to see at Pride—and invite them to experience a vacation created especially for lesbian and LGBTQ+ women.
What is an Olivia Group Leader?
An Olivia Group Leader is the person who brings a qualifying group together for an eligible Olivia vacation and serves as the group's organizer and connector.
You might be the one who discovers the perfect trip, gets everyone excited, starts the group chat, or reminds everyone when it's time to book.
Most importantly, you're helping your community experience what makes traveling with Olivia different: the freedom to explore the world surrounded by lesbian and LGBTQ+ women and a community where you can feel welcome being exactly who you are.
How Does the Olivia Groups Program Work?
Becoming an Olivia Group Leader is easy:
1. Choose an eligible Olivia vacation.
Find the cruise, resort, riverboat, luxury cruise, or adventure that gets your group excited.
2. Call an Olivia Travel Consultant.
Let us know you'd like to form a group so we can register you as a Group Leader and make sure everyone is set up correctly.
3. Build your group.
Gather enough travelers to qualify for the Groups Program, including at least two people who are New Olivians.
4. Have everyone book with your Travel Consultant.
Your consultant will connect the reservations to your group so qualifying travelers receive their savings and you can earn Group Leader credits.
Step‑by‑Step: How to Form an Olivia Travel Group
Step 1: Choose Your Trip!
The most fun part! Maybe it is the XOXO Caribbean Cruise, a sun-soaked week designed for romance, friendship, and pure fun. Maybe it is a Greek Isles with Lesbos Cruise, where your group can stand on an island that has been home to lesbians for generations. Or maybe you are drawn to a luxury cruise through the Baltic Sea or Norwegian Fjords, or a resort week in Turks & Caicos, Cancún, or at Hard Rock Vallarta.
Start by browsing the current list of vacations eligible for Olivia's Groups Program. Eligible trips and offers can change, so choosing from the current list ensures your group can qualify for available savings and Group Leader rewards.
Step 2: Call our Travel Consultants
Before you book, let us know you want to be an Olivia Group Leader. We do this person-to-person so we can learn about your community, answer questions, and make sure your group is set up correctly. Your consultant will walk you through timing, cabin or room types, and how to talk with your friends about deposits and payment plans. Our Travel Consultants are available Monday - Friday 8:30am-5:30pm PT at 800-631-6277 x 1 (or +1 415-962-5700 x 1 internationally).
Step 3: Build Your Group
Now comes the part you're probably already good at: bringing people together!
You need eight or more travelers total to create a group, including at least two people who have never traveled with Olivia before—our "New Olivians." That might look like you and four long-time Olivia guests plus three friends who have always said, "One day I’m going with you," or a whole new circle from your local Lesbian meetup. Each person must book their reservation directly with your Travel Consultant, who will link your reservations, so everyone gets the savings and you earn credits.
Behind the scenes, we keep the structure simple. Groups are tied to a specific sailing or resort date, and there are clear deadlines that your consultant will outline. Many Group Leaders set up a shared chat thread or email list where they can pass along reminders, packing tips, excursion ideas, and updates from Olivia. Some hosts even organize a pre-trip meetup or video call so new folks can learn names and feel comfortable before they ever step onto the ship or into the lobby.
Who Can You Invite?
Your Olivia group can start almost anywhere:
- Your circle of friends or chosen family
- Your local LGBTQ+ or lesbian meetup
- A softball, golf, pickleball, or other sports group
- A book club
- A professional or community organization
- Friends you've met on previous Olivia vacations
- People you see every year at Pride
- Friends celebrating a milestone birthday, anniversary, or retirement
You don't need to be a professional travel planner. You just need to be the person who gets everyone saying, "Yes. Let's do this."
