After breakfast, you'll tour Cape Town, including The Company’s Gardens and Bo-Kaap neighborhood, with 18th-century houses and mosques, where we will visit private homes to prepare and enjoy lunch with a local family. After, you will visit Table Mountain by cable car for the breathtaking views of the city and beach. Dinner in the city. (B/L/D)

After breakfast, tour beautiful Cape Peninsula National Park, home to wildlife such as eland, ostrich, bontebok, and baboons, stories of ghosts and shipwrecks, and a view of False Bay and the Hottentots Holland Mountains. We’ll have a seaside lunch and go to False Bay, where almost 3,000 African penguins freely roam. Dinner is on your own. (B/L/-)

Wednesday, April 20, 2022 Cape Town

After breakfast, enjoy your choice of an included excursion to: Rosie’s Soup Kitchen in Khayelitsha Township (an impoverished yet vibrant community where you’ll have an opportunity to see and contribute to the powerful work feeding hundreds of people on a daily basis—people who might not otherwise get a meal); a surf lesson on a Cape Town beach; Robben Island prison, where Nelson Mandela was held; the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens; or Duiker Island with 6,000 Cape Fur seals. The afternoon is free for you to explore (maybe visit the gay and lesbian district, De Waterkant!) You’ll dine at a famous Cape Town restaurant with interactive drumming and pan-African cuisine. (B/L/D)

After breakfast, depart for scenic Cape Winelands and enjoy tastings at the 300-year-old Lourensford Estate (wine and chocolate to taste), Morgenster Estate (wine, olive, and olive oil tasting!), and Allée Bleue Estate (wine and local cheeses to taste). Lunch at gourmet Tokara Restaurant. Dinner and overnight at Le Franschhoek Hotel. (B/L/D)

We’ll sample local flavors in local artisan food (such as biltong and droëwors) and drinks, and lunch locally. You’ll enjoy a wine tasting before dinner on your own. (B/L/-)
