THE TRAVEL EXPERIENCE

Are non-binary and trans guests welcome on Olivia Trips?
Yes, non-binary and trans guests are and have always been welcome on Olivia trips. While most of our guests identify as cis lesbians and queer women, our community is vast and rich, and we’re happy to have you. We’re here to celebrate our community and provide a safe space where guests can feel free to be themselves.

What is it like to travel solo with Olivia?
It’s great! What better and safer way is there to travel alone? Our Solos Coordinator organizes special activities for our independent travelers, such as dances, mixers, and excursions. To give you extra time to bond on our larger trips, we also designate special tables at meals for our Solos and a special seating area at performances. If you are interested in sharing a room, Olivia will arrange one for you based on habits, such as whether you smoke. There’s more information on our website about traveling solo, including our detailed room share agreement, which you’ll want to review if you opt to have Olivia pair you with a roommate. If you have additional questions about traveling independently, please contact one of our Olivia Travel Consultants, who will be more than happy to speak with you about our Solos program!

What are the accommodations like?
The accommodations vary depending upon the vacation you choose—and for most of our trips, the venue has a range of accommodations, with prices ranging accordingly. Our trained Olivia Travel Consultants are happy to explain the differences between the options and assist you in choosing the accommodations that will best meet your needs.

What about seasickness on cruises?
Most of our guests never experience any motion sickness because the ships we charter are equipped with state-of-the-art stabilizers. If you tend to get seasick or are still concerned that you might become seasick on a cruise, we suggest you try an over-the-counter motion sickness remedy, such as Bonine. or discuss your concerns with your physician.

Can I smoke on an Olivia vacation?
Smoking is not allowed in guests’ rooms or cabins, or any indoor spaces, but on every vacation, we designate areas for smoking—aiming to make it easy for smokers to be respectful of those who do not smoke, and vice versa. When possible, we will provide information ahead of time about the location of the smoking areas, in the FAQs tab of the trip page on our website. Otherwise, information will be made available at your resort or hotel, or onboard your ship.

Are 12-step meetings offered?
Yes, typically on trips with 100 or more guests, we set aside time and space for guests to hold their own daily Turning It Over meeting for members of all 12-step programs. If you would like to verify whether the trip you’re interested in will have a daily Turning It Over meeting, please contact an Olivia Travel Consultant.

Is there an advantage to booking early?
Booking early provides you with a greater choice of accommodations and allows you to take advantage of our special Early-Bird pricing and select Pre-Sale offers.

What happens when I book at the last minute?
Bookings made less than 30 days prior to departure date may be subject to a surcharge for rush processing. Contact an Olivia Travel Consultant for more information.

How do I find information about a specific trip?
Each trip has its own page on our website. In addition to the main tab with the overview, you’ll find separate tabs with info about the itinerary, entertainment, ship or resort accommodations, pricing, and pre- and post-trip Vacation Stretchers (when applicable). The trip’s FAQS tab has detailed information on the topics we’re most frequently asked for that particular trip.
From this page, you can browse all our vacations or adjust the filters on the left side of that page to narrow trips according to factors such as trip type and year.

What if I have specific needs?
Whenever possible, Olivia tries to accommodate guests with specific needs, whether those needs are medical, mobility, dietary, or something else. However, the following conditions apply:

  • When a guest makes a reservation, Olivia must be informed of any physical disability or mental condition they have that requires treatment
  • Olivia has the right to refuse or revoke passage or participation to anyone who, in its judgment, is in a physical or mental condition that makes them unfit for travel or who may require care beyond that which Olivia can provide
  • Olivia reserves the right to deny participation in certain activities based on past or present conditions
  • All guests with disabilities must be self-sufficient and should travel with a guest who will provide any necessary assistance during the trip or in the event of an emergency
  • Guests who use a wheelchair must provide their own small, collapsible wheelchair and may find certain areas inaccessible

Please note that wheelchair accessible rooms cannot be booked online but our Travel Consultants will be happy to assist you! If you have signed up for a trip but have not informed your Olivia Travel Consultant about your specific needs, please be in touch as soon as possible, but no less than 90 days prior to the start of your trip.

BOOKING HOW-TO AND COSTS

How do I find information about a specific trip?
You can select a browse all vacations directly from our home page or narrow your search by trip type or year. Each trip has its own pages on our website. In addition to the main tab with the overview about your experience, you’ll find separate tabs with info about the itinerary, entertainment, ship or resort accommodations, pricing, and pre- and post-trip Vacation Stretchers (when applicable). .

How do I book a trip?
To make a reservation online, just click the Book Now button from the web page for the trip you’re interested in; that will start the online booking process!
If you prefer to speak with a live person, please call during our business hours (8:30 AM to 5:30 PM US Pacific Time). Dial 1.800.631.6277 (within the US and Canada) or 1.415.962.5700 (from everywhere else) and select option 1 to connect with an Olivia Travel Consultant.
Please note that unless otherwise indicated, a nonrefundable deposit of 25% of trip cost is required at the time of booking for all trips; this excludes pre- and post-trip Vacation Stretchers, which must be paid in full at the time of booking and are non-refundable.

What are my payment options?
Payments may be made with a debit card, Discover Card, MasterCard, or Visa credit card, or with a check or money order.

What do the rates include?
Rates are per person, in US dollars, and based on double adult occupancy for all trips. Rates include your cabin or room, all meals,* entertainment, included excursions (where applicable), and Olivia staff assistance. Rates do not include airfare or non-discountable amounts (NDAs), which cover port taxes and gratuities. NDAs are not subject to promotional discounts and are subject to change without notice. Optional shore excursions are also not included in the rates; please check the trip description for any included excursions.
*Unless otherwise noted in the itinerary. All meals aboard a cruise are included, as are all meals at resorts and most meals (as specified) on all our other vacations.

Are special rates available for groups?
Group discounts are available. Please see our website for more information. . If you have additional questions or plans to start a group, please contact an Olivia Travel Consultant.

What about airfare to get to the resort or embarkation point?
We have airline partnerships that provide discounts of up to 15% on airfare to our destinations. Please visit our airfare discount page for the most up-to-date information, or contact an Olivia Travel Consultant, who will be happy to share the most current discounts and recommendations with you.

Should I purchase travel insurance?
Yes! We recommend that you purchase travel insurance to protect against unforeseen emergencies. Not only can insurance cover the belongings you take with you on your trip, but it could also cover you in case of a medical emergency or trip cancellation (all terms of the policy apply).
Consider travel protection for trip cancellation, delay, and interruption; baggage delay; emergency medical services and emergency evacuation; and more. Typically, these services are not fully covered by your credit card company, homeowner's policy, or medical insurance. It is up to you to protect your vacation investment.
If you do not purchase travel insurance at the time you book your trip, we encourage you to reconsider—it isn’t too late. To receive the most comprehensive coverage, it is important to purchase the travel protection within 15 days of your initial trip payment.

*Insurance plans offered through Olivia are for US residents only. We encourage our International travelers to obtain travel insurance in the country where they reside.

AFTER YOU’VE BOOKED

When will I receive my tickets?
We'll email you a confirmation as soon as you book. And then, 3 to 4 weeks before the start of your trip, we will email you the final travel documents. This will include required e-tickets, information on packing and activities, and other travel details.

Will I need a passport or visa to travel?
Yes, both US citizens and non-US citizens will need a passport that is valid for six months past the date of the last day of your trip.*
Some countries require visitors to obtain a visa or other documentation prior to or upon arrival. We will include information about visa requirements for US citizens on the trip’s FAQ tab approximately 9 to 11 months prior to the start of the trip. If you are not a US citizen, please check with both your country’s consulate and the consulates of the countries we will be visiting to determine what documentation you will need in addition to a passport.
*Excludes US citizens traveling within the US on Olivia land-based vacations.

Will I need vaccinations or inoculations?
Please check with your local public health department or personal physician regarding immunization requirements for all countries on your itinerary. You may also check the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s website at www.cdc.gov. Just click on “Traveler’s Health” and then “Vaccinations.”

Can I connect with other travelers before my trip?
Once you sign up for a trip, we will send you a confirmation email that includes a link to the private group on Facebook. Once you receive that email, click the link, which will bring you to the trip page on Facebook. On that page, just click the “+ Join group” link to request access and one of our group administrators will approve your request as soon as we can.

CHANGING OR CANCELING A RESERVATION

What if I need to change a name on the reservation?
You can change a name (or names) on your reservation up to 30 days prior to departure; each name change will result in a $75 charge. Please email cancellations@olivia.com for assistance.
Please note that if you need to change the name of the person who is financially responsible for the reservation, both the original financially responsible guest and the new financially responsible guest will need to complete a transfer document, the Assignment of Financial Rights form.

What if I cancel?
Please refer to our Terms and Conditions Terms and Conditions form to see the schedule of cancellation fees. Please note that Olivia vacations cannot be re-sold and are not transferable. All Vacation Stretchers are non-refundable except as noted in the Olivia catalog. Cruise lines' individual policies prohibit pregnant travelers beyond 24-weeks’ gestation. All guests who agree to share a stateroom with a companion pay the per-person double occupancy rate. In the event the companion cancels, the remaining guest has the option to pay the full double occupancy fare or allow Olivia to arrange a room share. Please note that a cancellation cannot be completed online and is not effective until it is received in writing from all parties by emailing cancellations@olivia.com or at the Olivia office at 434 Brannan Street, San Francisco, CA 94107.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

What are the terms of my trip?
Terms and conditions are a required part of the contract between guests and Olivia. Failure to sign terms and conditions may result in cancellation of your trip. Olivia has the right to refuse service to anyone at any time.
Travel documents will be emailed 3 to 4 weeks prior to departure. Please note that a trip’s itinerary, entertainers, and special guests are subject to change. View the complete Terms and Conditions.

Are there limits on Olivia's responsibility?
IMPORTANT LIMIT ON OLIVIA RESPONSIBILITY. This limit applies to all Olivia vacations. The cruise lines, resorts, hotels, lodges, carriers, excursion providers, and other suppliers providing tour services to The Olivia Companies, LLC (“Olivia") are independent contractors and are not principals, agents, employees, partners, or joint ventures of Olivia or its affiliates. The tour participant (guest or traveler) agrees that neither Olivia nor its affiliates shall be liable for any damage, loss (including personal injury, death, and property loss), or expense occasioned by any act. The tour participant (guest or traveler) acknowledges and agrees that Olivia shall not be liable for any loss, damage, cost, or expense whatsoever for any failure of performances, improper act, or any omission to act.

ONLINE ACCOUNT ACCESS, ETC

Can my girlfriend/wife/partner and I share a single account on Olivia.com?
Unfortunately, no, two people may not share a single online account. We would prefer to have a unique email address on record for everyone in your party. However, if you are traveling as a couple and prefer to receive only one email regarding your upcoming trips, we can send that information to just the primary account holder’s email—and that person will assume the responsibility to share the information with the other party.

I am having problems registering or logging on—It says my email address is already in use or I forgot my password
It is possible that you started registering with Olivia.com on a previous visit, but your account was never activated. Please request a new password at https://olivia.rezmagic.com/Booking/Account/RequestResetPassword. Enter your email address, first and last name and click “Submit.” You will receive an email with a link and a verification code. Please enter your verification code and click “Submit.”

When I logged on to my Olivia account, there was no information regarding my upcoming vacations. What should I do?
If you are having trouble seeing your past or upcoming vacations, please email memberservices@olivia.com.

Are you an artist or do you represent an artist who is interested in performing on an Olivia vacation? If so, please send an electronic press kit and a current audio and/or video recording of a recent live performance to entertainment@olivia.com. We love hearing from you, but due to the large volume of materials we receive, we are unable to confirm their receipt or provide updates. If there is a performance opportunity we think will be perfect for you, we’ll contact you to discuss it!
