The Norfolk, Nairobi

The newly-renovated Norfolk is a world-famous hotel built in the Tudor style. Since its opening on Christmas Day 1904, the Norfolk has delighted generation after generation of visitors with its service, luxurious style and unfailingly high standards. In the early days, this was the stomping ground adventure seekers and prominent people including President Theodore Roosevelt, Lord Baden-Powell, the Earl of Warwick and the Baron and Baroness Von Blixen. More recently, the hotel has been featured in numerous safari movies. The hotel's first gourmet chef was engaged from the Waldorf Astoria in New York, and meticulous attention to cuisine has been Norfolk's legacy ever since. The Ibis Grill has been rated one of the top ten restaurants in the world by Conde Nast Traveler. The Lord Delamere Terrace is still the meeting place for Nairobi's smart set. Ol Tukai Lodge, Amboseli National Park

Ol Tukai Lodge is set in the heart of Amboseli National Park, amidst green lawns and acacia trees. An airy reception area has been artfully designed using natural materials. Guests stay in chalet-style, single story units which have been built using local gum trees and pale slate. Each room has a large sitting area, a giant mosquito net, and en suite bathrooms with showers. You will look out towards Mt. Kilimanjaro or over the wetlands that many African animals call home.

There is a large and attractive swimming pool with shady areas for relaxation, and a pool bar for snacks and drinks. Watch wildlife from the open-air Elephant Bar that looks over the wetlands, or settle down in the library which commands a lovely view of Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Main Governor’s Camp, Maasai Mara

You’ll enjoy a luxury tented camp, the Main Governor’s Camp, located right where the Mara River bends, and affording a spectacular view. The camp is the epitome of luxury in the wild, and is superbly furnished to the highest possible standard with well-appointed canvas tents, each with its own bathroom with hot and cold running water and amenities as shampoo, body lotion, shower gel and thick plush bath towels. Each morning a buffet feast is prepared over blazing coals; mountains of bacon, eggs the way you like them, fresh ,milk flown-in daily, hot baked croissants, exotic fruits and freshly brewed Kenya coffee.
