Before Your Trip

What’s included and what’s not

The price of your trip includes seven nights’ accommodation, Olivia’s signature evening entertainment, all meals, round-trip transfers to/from the airport (on May 15 and May 22, 2010), all soft drinks, most alcoholic beverages, and most activities.

The following items are not included: airfare, traveler insurance, excursions, Champagne and certain premium alcohols. NDA charges (resort fees) are not included in the price of the trip but have already been added to your reservation as reflected on your invoice.

Travel documentation and identification

You will need a passport that is valid for six months past the date of the trip. If you are not a US citizen, please check with both your country’s consulate and the Mexican consulate to make sure that you do not need an entry visa or other additional documentation.

Vaccinations

Please check with your local Public Heath Department or personal physician regarding immunization requirements for all countries on your itinerary. You may also check the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Web site at: www.cdc.gov. Just click on “Traveler’s Health” and then “Vaccinations.”

Travel insurance

We encourage all guests to purchase travel insurance. Olivia has recently partnered with Travelex to make things easier for you; you can now add your travel insurance when you book your trip, all in one call. In order to receive the most comprehensive coverage, please purchase your insurance within 14 days of your initial invoice. You will need to fly into and out of Cancun International Airport (CUN).

Luggage allowances

While there is no luggage limit at the resort, airlines often restrict (or charge) for excess baggage. Because each airline is different, and the regulations change over time, please check with your airline for baggage allowances.

Transfers and meeting up with Olivia

Getting to the resort

Transfers from the airport to the resort are included on the first day of the trip (May 15, 2010). In order to provide you with a transfer, we will need your arrival flight information. More specific information will be sent in your final informational package. The airport is approximately 15-20 minute driving time from our resort.

Check in is after 3PM on the day of arrival (May 15, 2010).

During your trip

Amenities and activities

Resort amenities and activities include: 3 restaurants, a snack bar, a gorgeous pool, bars, a fitness center, 8 hard-surface tennis courts, beach volleyball, kayaking, basketball, street hockey, volleyball, snorkeling, scuba, windsurfing, sailing, waterskiing, flying trapeze, wakeboarding, optional excursions, massage and salon services, and boutique. There are fees for some of the activities and services.

Concierge rooms include room service, turndown service, bathrobes and slippers, branded deluxe toiletries, a stocked mini-fridge, free Internet access, and laundry service (with charge).

All rooms are newly-renovated and include: air-conditioning, coffee machine, flat-screen television, hair-dryer, Internet access, iron and ironing board, mini fridge, radio-alarm-CD player, security safe, shower, telephone, U.S. electrical plugs / 110 Volts and laundry service. There is an extra charge for Internet and telephone use, as well as for laundry service.

Dining

Seating policy

Meals are open seating. We will have a special solos dining area.

Restaurants and bars

La Hacienda

Entirely renovated,in the centre of the Resort this restaurant opens for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It welcomes you in 5 themed, air-conditioned rooms or on the terrace overlooking the pool. Each indoor room has been decorated like a house: the library, the dining room, the lounge or the kitchen. International buffets and local mexican dishes are served daily.

Las Cazuelas

This restaurant, with its local architecture, is built on stilts and thus offers unrestricted views of the ocean. During the day, this restaurant offers local specialties in buffet form. In the evening, it becomes a reservation only Mexican cuisine restaurant.

La Pergola

With a view of the Ocean, this restaurant is open day and night, to help you calm your hunger. In the evening, this reservation-only restaurant features a selection of Mediterranean tapas brought to your table.

Electricity

The rooms have 110 volt electricity, which is the same as the US.

Excursions

Excursions may include: Chichen Itza. one of the most famous archeological sites in the world;  Coba Tulum, an extraordinary Mayan village, which the jungle has kept as a closely-guarded secret until recently; a visit to Islas Mujeres (Women’s Island) by catamaran; and swimming with the dolphins.

These options are all part of the club's excursion program and are an additional charge. We cannot guarantee that these are the specific excursions Club Med will offer us. All excursions must be booked at the resort.

Gratuities

Gratuities are included in the cost of the trip.

Internet/e-mail/fax

Internet access is available in every room. There is a fee for internet access, except in concierge-level rooms, where it is complimentary.

Laundry and dry cleaning

Laundry and dry cleaning are available for a fee.

Medical services

Basic medical assistance, including a nurse and first-aid kits, is available at the resort. Medical assistance is available outside the resort for an additional cost.

Phone

Each room has a phone. There is an additional fee to use this phone; please check with the resort for rates before using your in-room phone.

Smoking policy

Public indoor spaces are non-smoking areas. Designated smoking areas near the pool are available.

Spa services

There is a spa onsite. Massages and other services are available for a fee.

Solo travelers

We will have a solos program at the resort, including a solos dining area at all meals.

Chack out time

Check out is 11:00 a.m. on May 22, 2010.

Transfers to the airport

Transfers to the airport on the last day of the trip (May 22, 2010) are included. In order to provide you with a transfer, we will need your departing flight information.
