- Cozumel was once the destination of Mayan women paying homage to Ixchel, the Mayan goddess of fertility; today it’s ranked among the world's premier dive spots. Just a ferry ride away, you’ll find the Mayan ruins of Tulum perched on dramatic sea cliffs. One of the best ways to experience Cozumel is to take an excursion—a visit to Chichen Itza, a swim with dolphins, zipline adventures and ATV rides are some past guest favorites.
