Diana Nyad

In 1979, Diana Nyad stroked her way to the longest swim in history, for both men and women. The distance was 102.5 miles–from the island of Bimini to the Florida shore–and that incredible record still stands today. Diana was front page news throughout the Western world, the lead story for Walter Cronkite on the CBS Evening News, and many times guest of The Tonight Show. For ten years (1969-1979) Diana was the greatest long-distance swimmer in the world. She broke numerous world records, including the 50-year-old mark for circling Manhattan Island (7hrs., 57 min.) in 1975. In 2006, Martina Navratilova served to induct her friend Diana into the International Women’s Sports Hall of Fame. As a journalist, Diana is heard by eight million people each week on National Public Radio. She is a columnist each Thursday on Los Angeles KCRW’s edition of “All Things Considered”. Diana has also carved herself an illustrious 30-year career as a sports television personality, working on camera for ABC’s Wide World of Sports, FOX SPORTS, the Outdoor Life Network, and CBS Sunday Morning. She has also written three books (Other Shores, Basic Training for Women, The Boss of Me) and speaks three foreign languages fluently.

Lindsey Harding

Lindsey Harding is considered as one of the elite players in all of women’s basketball. Born in Mobile, Alabama and raised in Houston, Texas, Lindsey has amassed an impressive list of achievements throughout her career.

Lindsey attended Duke University where she had a standout career. While at Duke, Lindsey was selected as an All-American several times, won the Naismith National Player of the Year, WBCA National Defensive Player of the Year, and in 2008 became only the second Duke women’s basketball player to have her jersey retired.

Lindsey was selected as the #1 overall pick in the 2007 WNBA Draft. A member of the USA Women’s National Team, Lindsey is entering her ninth year playing professionally. In the WNBA Lindsey has played for the Minnesota Lynx, Washington Mystics, Atlanta Dream and most recently the Los Angeles Sparks.

Not only does Lindsey play in the WNBA she also takes her talents internationally. She has played for teams in Russia, Lithuania, and three seasons in Turkey. Lindsey has distinguished herself among the very best and recognizable players in women’s professional basketball.

Julie Goldman

Julie Goldman deals with the art of stand-up like she's got nothing to lose. Goldman is a crackerjack stand-up comic whose romping pop style and perfect timing allow her to wrest the uproarious from the serious and send her audience careening toward side-splitting bliss. Call it feminist or lesbian humor if you want, but the great thing about Goldman is she transcends all those terms and shows us that we're all in this together. She is very now and an absolute must see.

Gina Yashere

Gina broke onto the American comedy scene with her performances on Last Comic Standing, where she made it to the final 10. She is known for her regular, hilarious appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno as Madame Yashere, The Surly Psychic.

Three-time award winner for “Best Female” at the Black Comedy Awards, Gina’s bombastic delivery, infectious personality and cheeky observations have wowed audiences all over the world. She was named one of the top ten rising comedy talents by The Hollywood Reporter.

Gina hails from London via Nigeria and shoots from the hip. Her unique take on being both a cultural insider and outsider never fails to raise the roof. Following an early career as a Lift Engineer, Gina made her comedy debut at the Edinburgh Festival in 1995 to an almost sold out show.

Since those early heady days, Gina has continued to take the comedy world by storm and is now one of the most highly sought after comics in the UK and the US. Some of her TV appearances have included her one-hour comedy special Skinny B*tch, Are We There Yet, Stand Up in Stilettos, The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien, Last Comic Standing, Chelsea Lately, Def Comedy Jam and The Celebrity Fame Academy. Gina also played a series regular on the UK series Married, Single, Other.

Her radio shows have ranged from her BBC Radio London show to the critically acclaimed radio sketch show, The Powder Room. Feature films have included Kiss Kiss and Mr. In Between. She has appeared on the West-End stage in The Vagina Monologues and has written several plays for BBC Radio 4 and sketches for Richard Blackwood’s Channel 4 series. She has performed in the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal and Toronto and The Comedy Festival in Las Vegas.

Gina currently resides in Los Angeles and tours non-stop around the world.

So it comes as no surprise that she was voted one of Curve Magazine’s Top 10 funniest lesbian comics and Top 10 faces to watch in 2010 by Diva Magazine.

Sandra’s hosting credits include La Femme Film Awards (4 years in a row), Power UP 10 Amazing Gay Women and Men Gala, and GLAAD Awards, to name a few. From hosting to touring with the Latin Divas and Queer Queens of Qomedy to sharing the stage with Eva Longoria at the HBO Comedy Festival, Sandra still finds time to give back to the community by volunteering and producing comedy shows for various causes including benefits/fundraisers for Aids, sobriety, domestic violence and LGBT rights.

Always an activist of human rights, Sandra was just recently honored in her hometown of Laredo with the 2013 International Woman’s Day Award for being a trailblazer and empowering women and was chosen by Unidos-The National Latino LGBT Human Rights Organization to be part of their prestigious list for Project VISIBLE Latinos LGBT in the USA and Puerto Rico: Out in Leadership. GLAAD has honored Sandra’s work at Mun2 with a Special Recognition Award for her groundbreaking achievements in production for promoting fair and accurate representation of the LGBT community in English-speaking Latino television including benefits/fundraisers for Aids, sobriety, domestic violence and LGBT rights.

Furthermore, The California Senate presented Sandra with a Certificate of Recognition for her relentless support of people in recovery in the LGBT community as exemplified by her leadership in producing “One Gay at a Time", a comedy show that celebrates people in recovery.

Jessica Kirson

Jessica Kirson's unique style and captivating stage presence captures the attention of audiences and club bookers everywhere she performs. Her wide variety of characters brings a diverse energy to her routine. Once you have seen her amazing talent, it is easy to understand why she was selected to perform at the Hamptons, Toyota, Marshall's Women in Comedy, Comedy Central's South Beach, Montreal, and HBO's Las Vegas comedy festivals. She was awarded, "Best Female Comic" by the MAC association in New York City and recently accepted the Nightlife Award for, "Best Stand-up Comedian" in NYC. Her Youtube channel, "The JessyK Show" has over 2.2 million views.

C. C. Carter

C.C. Carter is a seasoned Chicago Slammer and performance poet who brings the house down whether performing to an intimate crowd of 10 or in a public arena of 10,000. Her poetry and performances make her one of the few spoken word artists to showcase regularly at women’s music festivals including the Michigan Womyn’s Music Festival, National Womyn’s Music Festival, and Sistahfest as well as garnering her opening credits for Nikki Giovanni, Maya Angelou, Cheryl Clarke and Dorothy Allison. Her one woman show, Living Large In a Shrinking America – sold out all three shows in Provincetown during women’s week; critics deemed it “hilariously funny and perfectly timed.”

Whether giving keynote performances on the complexities of the Marriage Equality act, performing at human rights rallies or presenting performance lectures on college and university campuses of the intersections of diversity, C.C. gives voice to her layered truths of being femme, lesbian, multicultural and a mother.

C.C. has received numerous awards and honors for her arts and activism, including the induction into the Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame. Her work is currently anthologized in over 15 collections of poetry and prose including Best Lesbian Erotica, Best Black Women's Erotica, Does Your Mama Know and Women Warriors: 35 Women Leaders in the Spoken Word Revolution.


DJ Rockaway

Born and raised in Queens, NY, DJ Rockaway has been bringing her passion and love for music to dance floors for over a decade performing for audiences in the U.S. and internationally. From nightclubs on both the east and west coasts, to private weddings and events, she is a regular DJ on Olivia cruise and resort vacations and DJ’s for national non-profit events such as NCLR, HRC and Equality California, to name a few. She is the founder of PLAY San Francisco and PLAY San Jose, which are monthly events for women who love to dance. A true New Yorker (just listen to her talk), DJ Rockaway’s unique mix of music styles – dance, hip-hop, R&B, house, club, retro – allows her to play to all who love to dance and feel the music. For DJ Rockaway, music is more than a blend of sounds, music is an experience – she wants you to feel it, live it, escape into it.


DJ Citizen Jane

DJ Citizen Jane is a Miami native who began in the 90's as a turn-table DJ spinning freestyle, and emerged into the nightlife scene to rise to the top with hard work, talent and dedication. Citizen Jane is an Open Format DJ with vast music style with no boundaries, and plays the best in dance, top 40, retro, rock, latin rock and indie, with influences extending into house, hip- hop, salsa, merengue and reggaeton. Her ability to read and keep a crowd going has allowed her to obtain resident DJ and headliner DJ billing at the hottest South Beach clubs and venues. Citizen Jane has also spun at celebrity private parties, corporate client events and special circuit events and had the pleasure to DJ at known venues in Spain, Argentina, Puerto Rico, Orlando, Tampa, LA and New York - dropping her beats internationally.

Citizen Jane is currently a Resident DJ for Icandee's weekly Saturday parties Flirt, Fame Fatale, and the weekly Sunday Sizzling T-Dance Party at Dapur Lounge. Citizen Jane has been on various TV Shows aired on international networks Telemundo and Univision, including "Sabado Gigante" and "Un Nuevo Dia".
