The city also boasts a proud native heritage as the heart of Canada’s historic fur trade. The Canadian Museum for Human Rights, the first of its kind in the world, is slated to open in September 2014 and is a must-see!

October 18, 2015 - Churchill, Canada

Today, you’ll hop a flight Churchill, where you’ll spend the day touring the town. With visits to the Inuit Museum and Parks Canada Interpretive Center, you’ll be well-informed for your three-day adventure in the tundra! You’ll also have free time to explore Churchill on your own before included dinner at a local hotel.

October 19, 2015 - Tundra Buggy Lodge

You’ll begin your day with an awakening dog-sled excursion before hopping in the Tundra Buggies and heading out onto the tundra for the second half of the day. You'll learn about the historical and cultural significance of dog sledding in the North, and meet some puppies, as well as enjoy an exhilarating mile-long sled ride through the boreal forest. In the late afternoon, we'll be transferred to the Tundra Buggy launch site which will take us to the Tundra Buggy Lodge, covering over 15 miles of the Churchill Wildlife Management Area! At night, enjoy a home-cooked meal and hopefully watch the night sky for the Northern Lights (weather permitting).

October 20, 2015 - October 21 - Tundra Buggy Lodge

Over the next two days, you'll be on board the Tundra Buggy for full-day guided excursions into the best parts of the Churchill Wildlife Management Area, exploring the terrain and viewing the polar bears and other incredible wildlife! The buggies have an outside observation deck so you can get as close as possible to the polar bears without ever stepping off the vehicle. Take as many photos as you want or just enjoy the quiet, serene, wide open spaces you only get to experience but once in a lifetime. At night, you'll enjoy home-cooked meals and conversations with our expert guides about the wildlife and topography we explored earlier in the day.

October 22, 2015 - Churchill, Canada

After breakfast, we'll depart the lodge on our last Tundra Buggy expedition, meandering slowly along the way. Upon arrival at the launch, we will be transferred directly to the airport for an evening flight back to Winnipeg. Or, join us on our stretcher and fly to Hudson Bay!
