It features an extensive rose garden and rare oak trees planted in the 1880s. Or, tour Castle Ward, a unique 18th century house featuring both Gothic and Classical architecture. And we know some of you won’t be able to resist the Historical Pub Tour! Enjoy a walking tour of famous and historic pubs. If you like to golf, then you’re in luck again today. - Stromness began as a15th-century fishing port and this delightful town has played an important part in Orkney’s maritime history. From the stunning coastal scenery and rich archaeological heritage, to its abundant wildlife, arts & crafts, and culinary delights, there is something for everyone in Orkney. If you enjoy 20th century British Art, don’t miss the Pier Arts Centre. Natural history more your style? Visit the Stromness Museum, which is housed in a restored Victorian gallery. Or enjoy the Distillery & Churches of South Isles tour, which features a drive along the coast of Scapa Flow, plus a visit to St. Magnus Cathedral (built by the Vikings) and a stop at a malt whiskey distillery. For those who enjoy history and archelology, Skaill House, a World Heritage Site, boasts a wealth of pre-historic archeological findings, as well as artifacts from British Explorer Captain James Cook. - July 23: Invergordon, Scotland
- Invergordon has a tremendous history. Don’t miss Dunrobin Castle, known as the “Jewel in the Crown of the Highlands”, which dates from the 1300s. Curious about the Scottish Highlanders? Visit Cawdor Castle, where you will be greeted by a Scottish Highlander, see how a kilt is fitted and learn some fascinating history. Foulis Castle, home of the Munro Clan Chiefs is another great option. You’ll meet the castle owners and see a collection of tartans, pictures and family portraits. Or, journey back to the days of kings and castles as you walk the actual battlefields at the Battlefields of Culloden. Whisky lovers will be thrilled by the tour of the Glenmorangie Distillery and myth lovers are in for a treat at the Loch Ness Centre, where they’ll learn about the legend of Nessie, the infamous Scottish lake monster. And golfers, you’ll enjoy an opportunity to tee off at the Invergordon Golf Club.

- July 24: Edinburgh, Scotland
- No trip to the British Isles is complete without a visit to the capital of Scotland. Home to the new Scottish Parliament, Edinburgh is a historic, cosmopolitan, and cultural city perched on a series of extinct volcanoes and rocky crags. Explore Edinburgh Castle, Scotland’s most-visited castle and a World Heritage Site, and view the Crown Jewels of Scotland. See the Queen’s official residence in Scotland, the Royal Palace of Holyrood. Don’t miss the Royal Yacht Britannia. Known as a floating palace, this yacht is one of the world’s most famous ships; it carried the Queen and Royal Family on nearly 1000 voyages. Stirling Castle is another “must see”; for centuries, it has been known as the “key to the kingdom”, controlling one of the main routes between the Scottish Highlands and the lowlands. History buffs will enjoy Scone Palace, which has played a central role throughout the history of Scotland, and was formerly the crowning place of Scottish kings, including Macbeth and Robert the Bruce. Or, learn the history of whisky production and consumption at the Scotch Whiskey Heritage Center. And last, but certainly not least, golf enthusiasts will want to play a round in Scotland, where golf originated. There are a dozen courses in the Edinburgh vicinity alone!
