WHAT’S INCLUDED AND WHAT’S NOT
Just about everything is included in your fare: your cabin, meals, certain drinks (coffee, hot and iced tea, milk, and juice during meals), room service, gratuities to your cabin steward, waiter, busperson and maitre d’, Olivia’s signature entertainment, music, dancing and non-stop fun.
The following items are not included: airfare, transfers to and from the airport, travel insurance, personal items, alcohol, soft drinks, bottled water, spa services, beauty salon services, boutique purchases, telephone, fax, internet access, shore excursions, cabana rentals, specialty restaurants, ship’s photos, bingo, casino activities, fuel surcharge, and medical attention.
NDA charges are not included in the price of the trip but have already been added to your reservation as reflected on your invoice.
TRAVEL DOCUMENTATION AND IDENTIFICATION
You will need a passport that is valid for six months past the date of the trip. If you are not a US citizen, please check with your country’s consulate to make sure that you do not need an entry visa or other additional documentation.
VACCINATIONS
Please check with your local Public Health Department or personal physician regarding immunization requirements for all countries on your itinerary. You may also check the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Web site at: www.cdc.gov. Just click on “Traveler’s Health” and then “Vaccinations.”
TRAVEL INSURANCE
We encourage all guests to purchase travel insurance. Olivia has recently partnered with Travel Guard to make things easier for you; you can now add your travel insurance when you book your trip, all in one call. In order to receive the most comprehensive coverage, please purchase your insurance within 14 days of your initial invoice. AMENITIES IN YOUR CABIN
Your comfort is our priority. The moment you step onboard you will find all the comforts of home and a few pleasant surprises. Enjoy the comfortable, spacious and well-appointed accommodations you expect from a Holland America ship. Stateroom amenities include: Mariner’s Dream bed featuring finely woven cotton linens, deluxe waffle weave and terry cloth bathrobes for use during voyage, 100% Egyptian cotton towels, premium massage showerheads, 5x magnifying make-up mirrors, salon-quality hair dryers, fragrant soaps, lotions, shampoos and other bath amenities from Elemis Aromapure, complimentary fresh fruit on request, elegant ice bucket and serving tray for in-room beverages, flat-panel TV and DVD player, ice service, shoeshine service, nightly turndown service, 24-hour room service, satellite telephone, laundry, pressing and dry cleaning. There are fees for laundry and dry cleaning, as well as phone use.
AMENITIES ON THE SHIP
The Nieuw Amsterdam features something for everyone. Enjoy Olivia’s signature entertainment in the ship’s elaborate Showroom at Sea. Curl up with a good book, read the morning paper or check your email in the Explorations Café, powered by The New York Times. Sign up for a free Digital Workshop, powered by Microsoft Windows. Participate in a culinary demonstration in the ship’s state-of-the-art Culinary Arts Center, presented by Food & Wine Magazine. Luxuriate in the Greenhouse Spa & Salon where you can enjoy facials, hot stone massages or steam in a thermal suite. Keep active in one of the largest Fitness Centers at sea, featuring cardio equipment, free weights and fitness classes such as yoga, spin and pilates. Pick up your Oliviawear and artist merchandise at the Shops on the Promenade or check out the fine diamonds and jewelry in the Merabella Luxury Shops. Try your luck at the vegas-style Casino or grab a drink in one of 8 bars on board. Visit the Crow’s Nest where you can enjoy sweeping 270° views during the day and then dance the night away at Club O.
Enjoy the newest addition to the Holland America fleet of ships. Introducing the new private cabanas available to reserve by the day. Available on two decks, the cabanas are tastefully decorated, filled with amenities and provide an exquisite poolside retreat.
Lido Deck Cabanas: A total of 6 cabanas, each offering 2 person maximum provide the following services: Towel setup, bathrobes, handheld fans, iPod with preloaded music, 1 Evian mister, chilled water bottles setup, chilled fruit skewers served at 10am, fruit basket, small menu for lunch service. Poolside favorites will be served in the cabanas as requested from either the lido and the pool grill during regular opening hours. Ice cream silver service at 2pm includes tray with assortment of ice cream and condiments. Frozen grapes, chocolate covered strawberries and a glass of house champagne will be served at 3pm.
Cost: $30 per PORT day; $50 per SEA day

Retreat Cabanas: A total of 10 cabanas with 2 person maximum and 2 cabanas with 4 person maximum, these cabanas provide the following services: Towel Setup, bathrobes, handheld fans, iPod with preloaded music selection, 1 Evian mister per cabana and chilled water bottle setup. Frozen grapes, chocolate covered strawberries and a glass of champagne served at 3pm. Food service Island with healthy breakfast options like yogurts, cereal and muesli, fresh sliced fruit, a variety of “healthy bites” sandwiches, wraps, salads, fruit juices and drinks at lunch and afternoon.
Cost for 2 person Retreat Cabana: $45 per PORT day; $75 per SEA day
Cost for 4 person Large Retreat Cabana: $65 per PORT day; $115 per SEA day

COMMUNICATIONS – STAYING IN TOUCH
So that you can stay in touch with friends and family, there is an Internet center onboard with minute plans available. Pricing will be posted onboard. Guests may also bring their own laptops and purchase an Internet wireless plan onboard.
Each cabin has a satellite phone. There is an additional fee to use this phone; cost is available onboard.
Cellular phone use is now available onboard. The ship’s advanced roaming network allows you to make and receive calls, send and receive text messages and access emails and surf the web while at sea using your own mobile phone and telephone number. The Wireless Maritime Service system is available for use when the ship is in international waters. We strongly recommend that you check with your cell phone provider for rates and availability. You will be billed at rates similar to international roaming, which can be much higher than your standard service.
Letters and postcards may be mailed from the ship while in ports of call. You may buy stamps in port or purchase them through your onboard account.
DINING & RESTAURANTS
Seating & Dining Times
If eating incredible meals is one of your favorite activities, rest assured that you will be more than satisfied. First dinner seating is at 6 p.m. and second seating dinner is at 8:15 p.m. You will be assigned a dining time when you book your reservation. Dinner seating is open so you may sit where you wish. We also have a special dining area for those traveling solo.
Manhattan Dining Room:
The Manhattan dining room features impeccable service and an extensive wine list. Five-course menus include continental cuisine, vegetarian, vegan and low-carb options.
24-Hour Room Service
If you would like to enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner or a midnight snack in the comfort of your cabin, a room service menu is available 24 hours a day. Refer to your in-cabin service guide.
The Lido Restaurant
The Lido Restaurant’s relaxed ambiance features both an indoor, air-conditioned restaurant and portable buffet bars outside on the deck, offering make-it-yourself deli sandwiches, pasta dishes, salads and fresh, cooked-to-order entrees. Enjoy stir fry, hamburgers, desserts and the daily ice cream bar.

Looking for a quick bite to eat? Visit Slice for a slice of pizza any time of the day.
Canaletto Restaurant
Named for the famous 18th-century Venetian artist, the award winning Canaletto Restaurant adjacent to the Lido Restaurant dining area, serves classic Italian fare with tableside service for dinners only. Reservations are recommended.
The Pinnacle Grill – Specialty Restaurant
The Pinnacle Grill, is a great addition to your dining options. This intimate reservations-only venue offers an elegant, sophisticated dining experience featuring premium Sterling Silver beef, inspired seafood dishes, and many wines rated “Excellent” by Wine Spectator – as well as distinctive Bvlgari® china, Riedel® stemware and Frette® linens. Note that a per-person charge will be applied to your ship account when you dine at The Pinnacle Grill. Reservations are required and can be made onboard.
Tamarind Restaurant
Exclusive to Holland America’s Signature-class ships, the Tamarind Restaurant offers exceptional Pan-Asian fare. Located on the uppermost deck, this 144-seat topside restaurant provides stunning panoramic views port and starboard. Exotic dinner menus featuring dishes created by Master Chef Rudi Sodamin are categorized into the elements of water, fire, wood and earth. Sushi & sashimi are also available to complement your dining experience. Note that a per-person charge will be applied to your ship account when you dine at the Tamarind Restaurant. Reservations are required and can be made onboard.
ELECTRICITY
The cabins have 110 volt electricity, which is the same as that which is used in the US.
EXCURSIONS
So that you can maximize your vacation and explore in our ports of call, we organize exclusive shore excursions just for you. From dolphin encounters and island tours in Curacao to snorkeling and ATV outings in Aruba, the shore excursions offer something for everyone. Excursions will be available to book online approximately 30 days in advance. We will notify you via email when shore excursions are open.
GRATUITIES
Gratuities are included in the cost of the cruise. Gratuities are provided for your cabin steward, dining room steward, bus person, maitre'd and other-behind-the-scenes crew members.
LAUNDRY AND DRY CLEANING
Laundry, pressing and dry cleaning service is available onboard for an extra charge.
MEDICAL SERVICES
There is an onboard infirmary. Medical services entail an additional fee.
MONEY: PAYING FOR THINGS ONBOARD
During check in, you will be required to establish a ship account with a credit card. This allows you to leave your money and your credit cards in your room while enjoying your vacation onboard. For your convenience, your onboard account lets you charge drinks, spa services, shore excursions and shopping purchases to your cabin. The ship will process credit card cash advances for a three percent fee at the front office. You can also obtain cash through your onboard account in the casino. Please check with the front office onboard for further details.
SISTERS AT SEA & FRIENDS
Olivia’s Sisters at Sea & Friends program is dedicated to promoting and celebrating diversity on our trips. Meet your Sisters at Sea coordinators on board so that you can find out about the special events we have planned for you during the week. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun.
SMOKING POLICY
We have designated smoking and non-smoking areas onboard. The non-smoking areas include all staterooms, all public areas and the starboard (right) side of all outdoor areas. Smoking is permitted outside on verandahs and on the port (left) side of outside decks.
SOLO TRAVELERS
Traveling solo? Look for the Olivia solos desk in the port terminal on embarkation day. Here you will meet Olivia’s Solos Coordinators who will have your Solos Week-at-a-Glance program. We plan dozens of activities for our solo travelers including special designated solos excursions. In addition, we organize a special solos dining area for all meals and reserve a section of the theater so that you can enjoy the evening entertainment with other solo travelers.
SPA SERVICES
Luxuriate in the expanded Greenhouse Spa & Salon where you can indulge in a myriad of spa treatments, relax in the thermal suites or enjoy the hydro-pool. Adjacent to the spa you will find the ship’s fitness center, the largest gym ever built for Holland America.
TRANSFERS TO THE AIRPORT
For those going directly to the Fort Lauderdale airport, you can take a taxi from the port to the airport for approximately $15 dollars, or you can purchase a transfer onboard. Taxis can be scarce after a cruise, so we recommend purchasing a transfer.
