Hi

There are a couple of things which I would like to discuss. 

First of all, as a 42 year old single female without kids and with 2 cats I often feel as though I am either an anomaly or completely out of touch with the experience of the majority of other women in my age group.  I am completely happy being alone, yet somehow I can't help but feel like I don't belong with my own peers, like I am just an anomaly of sorts.

Second, I have an issue with traveling solo.  Why is it that I end up having to pay a penalty for being single?  I would think that traveling solo means that airlines, car rental companies, and hotels don't need to use as much of their resources to meet my needs.  It just doesn't make sense

I can understand your situation...and being older doesn't help, does it?  You know, when you meet the person you are suppose to be with, it won't matter where you are or where you might have to go.  My Mother told me that when I meet someone I truly love, I'll be willing to live in a shanty, if that's what it takes to be together.  At the time I thought she was crazy, but she was right.

I've learned not to look.  When you are look, you set perimeters and have expectations.  These limits lead to disappointment.  Just continue to be you and eventually someone will find you and appreciate you, just the way  you are.  I really do believe that.

I'm a lesbian in my mid 50s,in a town of 120,00,in USA, single,no one to relate to to hang out with,and have an interest in someone from Australia who has just informed me she has befriended someone who contacted her on line and lives only 5 hours away.
I have grown children and grandchildren here,she has only her mother that keeps her there. She does have 2 sisters and a brother there.
I'm crushed and lonely.
Don't get me wrong I'm ok with me I have done the alone thing for sometime,but Geez.

Hi, my biggest challenge as a single is finding a small group of like minded singles to hang with.  All my friends are in very long term relationships & I find it difficult to be in my group as the only solo.  To counter that, I usually socialize with them individually as a couple rather than go the parties.  Silly, I know, but that's the way I feel.  Thanks for the topic.
