Hello Ladies,

 This will be my first, going solo and hoping to meet people. It will be a blast as I am celebrating my 40th. I also booked the Eastern Caribbean cruise in Feb which I'm hoping will be a blast. I am very excited to experience Olivia resort and cruise.

Tuckie, I celebrated my 50th as a solo on the Alaska cruise 3 years ago.  It's still my favorite birthday memory of all 50+ years.  Highly recommend it.

Very excited you will be celebrating your 50th...I am going as my 40th bday present..mine is Oct 28th...glad to have another scorpio on board! This will be my 3rd Olivia...LOVE IT!! Keeps you coming back and although my 2nd trip did not really extend life long friends, my first trip did...in fact a solo I met who lives in Canada came down to do a visit in NY and met a good friend of mine...They have been married for 2 years now!!

Kim, you will love Ixtapa. My favorite Olivia resort. This will be our third time to the resort. The last time we were there, my friends booked at the last minute and got a standard room. It didn't have a balcony, but other than that it was great. So great in fact that they booked the same type of room for this trip ... and they can afford a different room. You will not want to be spending much time in your room anyhow!

I'm looking forward to celebrating your birthday with you! My name is Kim too! LoL :) If you have questions about the room talk with the Olivia representatives, most of them have been to these resorts and can answer specific questions about comparisons on rooms. From my experience in Puerta Vallerta I can tell you that we went with the cheapest room and not only was it GORGEOUS and spacious......overall we spent very little time in the room. Hope this helps!

Hello Wren & Everyone!

I am also very new to Olivia. I have been thinking, and thinking, and thinking, and thinking some more about this trip. It would not only be my first Olivia vacation, but it will be my shhhhh....come closer......ok now wait for it....wait for it.... IT WILL BE MY "50TH" BIRTHDAY during the vacation on November 6th! I want to bring in my birthday like it is New Year's Eve and celebrate the whole day...no the whole trip....lol! 

I have overcome so many obstacles from numerous surgeries for this and that....a wonderful miracle birth of my 6 year old wonderful son, and a stroke. I have completed two Graduate Degrees and now I am working on my Doctorate in Education specializing in Educational Leadership & Management. I am a very blessed woman and would love to bring in my 50th with wonderful surroundings of sandy beaches, calming sounds of water, and new friends that I will have the grand opportunity to meet and call my extended family during this trip and maybe beyond!

I pray I will be able to attend!

QUESTION: For those that have gone to this resort before.....I can't afford the room I would love to have for my birthday....but wanted to know how the standard rooms were. Can someone enlighten me about that?
