We are a lesbian bi-national couple, one of us is American and the other is from Saudi Arabia. Judy has offered us an opportunity to attend a round table with the first lady, Michelle Obama on June 4, 2013. This would give us the chance to speak about the issues we face surrounding immigration and marriage equality.
We met in Saudi Arabia five years ago and my arabian partner is currently in the US on a student visa. We have been engaged for 3 years but cannot marry because DOMA prevents me from having the right to marry a foreign national and give them a green card. I am sorry that I cannot post any more details or photos here due to the fact that Saudi Arabia imposes the death penalty for the "crime" of homosexuality, but please feel free to email me at TellOurStoryToFlotus [at] gmail and I would be more than happy to answer any questions. We would also love to hear from other bi-national couples so we can speak on your behalf as well.
We need to raise a minimum of $5,000 before the end of May but the ticket to the round table will cost $10,000. If we do not meet our goal of $5,000 raised, your money will be returned automatically.
