One of the women we are traveling with called Holland America and they said to carry it on and not to pack it in your suitcase.  We are planning on buying some champagne and wine.

I plan to shop in FtL to get my wine before boarding....but i'd like to clairfy...do i need to pack the wine in my suitcase or can i just carry it on in a shopping bag?

Thanks for the tip!! I spent $25 for the $50 soda card so it wasn't to much. I'll definitely be buying drinks beforehand now! :)

Oh, I wish you had asked about the drinks before buying the card.  Maybe it would not have mattered, but a lot of people buy soda and water locally and take it on board, wine, too.  Of course, you have to go back and forth to your cabin to fill up your cup (you can't have the products in public) and maybe you would not have wanted to do that. 

Anyway, if you want to make sure your card lasts a little longer buy a 12 pack of soda and at least when entertaining :-)  you will have drinks on hand in your room without the card or a cup to go when you first leave for the day.

someone posted this on  thread a while back....I'm not sure which thread though.  I think I remember the beers being $5?

 You might have to search around the threads for the info though.

Can someone tell me how much a soda or beer typically runs on the cruise? This is my first time going and I am trying to plan a budget for drinks. I bought a discounted soda card, just trying to figure out if that will last me most of the week... Thanks!! :)
