Any bay area residents joining us in Cancun?

If you have not yet bought tix, you may want to consider doing what I did...Buy your outbound now as a one-way and keep watching the fares for your return...I have been paying attention to the ticket prices for months and, based on my (very unscientific) observations, mostly using Bing, here is what i have found:

$400 or so RT for a flight with one stop is a good price

The lowest I have seen the nonstop flights is $511 Roundtrip

So, even if Bing predicts the prices will drop, I am doubtful that they will go much lower than $500 or so for the nonstop (although if you are willing to gambe and wait until a week or two before the trip you might get an amazing deal like $400 for the nonstops).  Since the outbound is only $270 right now (on United on Friday the 4th or on Virgin America on Saturday the 5th) I went ahead and purchased it--knowing that it was near the low I have seen of $255 or so for the half of the RT nonstop. 

 Too much info??  LOL.  I love thinking about vacation--it is fun for me to check the fares!

We are coming!  We live in Rockridge, in Oakland.  My partner CJ and I went on the Olivia Cancun trip two years ago and loved it so much that we could not pass up the chance to go again Big Smile.

That's a great deal AndieBean!  I am willing to pay more for the luxury of a nonstop flight...but right now the prices are still HIGH!  Hoping that changes soon...When we went to Isla Mujeres last fall I booked us on Volaris on the way home...saved a bunch of money as it was a mexican airline, but we switched planes late at night in guadalahara...Volaris does not necessarily pop up on the search engines--it is affiliated with Southwest.

Just found plane tickets from SFO to CUN for $388 roundtrip with Delta through Expedia.com, if you go to the Delta website, the tickets will cost you closer to $1000. Only draw back, the layover in LAX is overnight on the flight back. But still, a great deal!

Yeah, that's what it's looking like it'll end up costing for us as well. Although I heard Virgin America will do $99 each way during their summer deals. Not sure if I want to gamble it just yet.

We are flying on United with a direct flight for a little over $500.  We are also from the Bay Area.

So I am just about to book the trip and have been looking at flights.  Through Expedia I found US Airways for $510 RT from SFO.

 This will be my first Olivia Trip.

My girlfriend and I bought our tickets back in October and are wondering where we can find the best flight deals. So far, it seems like Virgin America (Departing from SFO) might be our winner. Anyone else have any suggestions?
