Sounds like our Winter here in Perth, maybe a little cooler.  the layering thing and the odd hot flush will keep me warm enough. Oh yeah 24 days to boarding day :)

It's 13 degs cel / 56F  in Adelaide today  so good practice for Alaska ! Good opportunity to try out my thermals and fleece jacket.  Leanne and Jen , when are you flying out?

That's fabulous info, Joyce - thanks for posting. We have been having a very wet winter in the Adelaide Hills in South Aus, so we hope to get away from the rain and enjoy some milder weather. Getting very excited now :)

Wow! I was expecting Alaska to be rainy every day!  I am sooooo confused about what to expect.  Guess if I don't have it, I buy it! :)

We are smack dap in the middle of the drought of 2012, so if it rains, and I'm hoping for just some occasional showers, I won't be upset at all.  I'll just stand in the cleansing rain, feel it fall against my upraised face, and be happy to be in Alaska !

Hey Joyce thanks for giving info on the weather, those temperatures are positively sizzlingly summer for me coming from the UK, and no rain in Sept, it doesn't stop in England, I'm gonna be laughing.....lol

As Joyce mentioned...summer weather can extend well into September, therefore, layering is always the best strategy. You just might be needing t-shirts and shorts! Evenings are more predictable and you can count on them being cool but usually not cold in September. I always take holidays in September...my favourite time of year.
