You can certainly take your luggage to your cabin.  However, depending on when you board, your room may or may not be ready for you.  We can begin boarding at 11:30 and some rooms will be ready when you board and some won't.  It all depends on when you actually board.  It's much like checking your luggage and carrying it on.

Hello Toyah, there is very little they will let you do for yourselves, I'm sure the staff ratio to guests is 2 guests to 1 staff. They pretty much hug you from day one lol, sit back and enjoy your on holiday....the only disadvantage of the staff to guest ratio is on the last day when you want to turn into a pirate and steal the ship, you realise the crew who seem to adore their world, would put up a fight...and I think they would win.

you are not required to take your own baggage on board...we take our own carry on size with us however let the crew manage our heavier bags, what is nice is being able to access our cabins as soon as we board now...we found our other bags arrived pretty soon after...we boarded went for lunch came back to our room and all bags had arrived

I haven't seen this posted yet but FYI.  Make sure you carry on ship the things you will need for at least the first few hours, i.e., medication, cosmetics, change of clothes, as you will deposit your luggage on embarkation and then there is a time period as to when it will arrive in your cabin, much the same principal as checked luggage versus carry on.
