I'll just be sure to make sure I'm wearing bra and knickers, as my birthday suit whilst waterproof, washable daily with out use of launderette, may.... probably WILL offend I'm sure. Easy packing guaranteed though. I could decorate it with the themes of the night.

I'm liking this idea all of sudden......Big Smile

I agree with you.  This blog is only a handful of Olivians so there is no need for judgement ONLY FUN AND ACCEPTANCE OF ALL!!!

Oh, I don't think anyone is discouraging anything. Simply some are saying, the themes aren't that exciting.

But now that I think about it a minute, we do have black and white dress clothes! LOL. Same ones we wore on the first Olivia cruise for the commitment ceremony. If we have room, we might throw them in.

I agree that being "in theme" is not required for any of the theme nights. All are welcome. That's as it should be. It's all part of feeling free, being free!

I think the black and white night is a great opportunity for those who wish to dress up, to do so, and it's usually the night for getting those pretty pictures taken!  The theme nights are just for fun -- feel free to dress for them --  feel free not to.  The ship is always rocking with a party, and it's fun to be there having fun, laughing, dancing, drinking, making friends, whether you are dressed in theme night attire or not.  Personally, we have only dressed for 3 theme nights; 1 Halloween (although we were sadly outdone by the super Halloweener's LOL), 1 formal night (which really wasn't that formal, but formal for us) and 1 white night.  It didn't keep us from the party not dressing up though, that's for sure.  It's a fun option, like I said, so do it, or don't.  FEEL FREE

By "old", I meant that  formal night is on almost all cruises that I have been on..  Time for other options.  I applaud those that like to "dress up" or not....whatever floats your boat.  I am sorry that you felt that it was a judgemental attitude as that is NOT me.

Re: Who wants what for theme nights?

I want a black and white formal night - I guess I can express that even if it is considered "old". If you have a better idea you should express it and not discourage others from having a favorite.

Doing what we wish is not a odds with thinking the specialty nights are not all that thrilling.  For those that enjoy the themes, that is wonderful! For those of us who are not thrilled, we'll be fine too.  We are quite content with not doing or attending events that we don't find a fun, or good use of our limited vacation time.

"OLD" wow not sure if that is friendly. I like tradition. The GLBT often is excluded from tradiiton so when I am free to be me I can wear my tuxedo and be free. So if you do not want a formal night just dress as you wish, as most lesbians do and eliminate the issue. I enjoy seeing my sisters in gowns or tuxedos - we are a good looking lot. No one from Olivia or HAL or passengers really care what anyone wears or does not wear. A nude night sounds OK also. I am not trying to be rude I am just saying "let it be." We can do as we wish in life...Peace

Also  not enthused with any of the themes.  The formal night is old and should be retired, the others are just too wierd.  Would have preferred a "klonDYKE night", or even a a "Whale  of a good time" night.  Having voiced my humble opinion, I will do as I please.......lol

Hmmmm, wasn't overly enthused about the themes... but no matter. It's all part of the package.  We don't plan on bringing anything close to "dressing up" clothing, so that party is out.

Apres ski? Huh. Too easy! Can't complain about that aspect!  Roaring 20's, meh. Nothing we'd be too into.

I'm sure others will have great fun with the themes though!

It would have been nice if they told us which night is what theme; instead of telling us once we board or day before.

Makes it hard to plan for other activities / celebrations etc. . . .after all I wouldn't want to miss out on a party!Party!!!

(unless they did and I'm missing it!)
