Very wise advice. However, I would suggest that even those of us with marriage licenses bring all the other paperwork with us because, as far as I know, our marriages will only be recognized in Sweden.

I've been checking forecasts for Stockholm, and it sounds like I'm going from the Pacific Northwest to the Pacific Northwest where the weather is concerned! Bring layers and your lightweight raingear, and your sunscreen for the sunbreaks.

And for those of us who don't have marriage licenses (yet), bring your legal documents. In fact, everyone, including solos, needs to have their medical power of attorney with them whenever they travel in case of emergency. Be sure to give your emergency contact back at home the number of the ship, and have that person's name and number (if not traveling with you) in your documents. My partner and I (from WA, where our legal right to marriage is on the November ballot) have a folder of documents with which we travel whenever leaving WA (where our domestic partner card pretty much protects us) that includes powers of attorney, both medical and financial, and advanced directives.

I called Azamara and they said they had both 210 and 110 sockets.

Hi D best not to second guess the weather in northern Europe, it's very cold right now in the UK, very windy, very wet and very grey as usual, the sun is not coming out to play this week, next week it could be summer and whole different world. I would pack a few bits for a heat wave and a few bits for the rain and the not so warm evenings, even I won't be packing as if it's for winter, not sure about those from hotter climates.....we moan a great deal when the temperature gets above 70 degrees, we can't take that kind of heat...lol I know some of you experience that temperature during winter months. It is a good summer for us if we hit 70..we just like the blue skies and the lighter evenings, it's dark in the winter. Jackie

Thanks, JackieNice, for your insight.   The weather is so unpredictable! We will bring some lighter summer wear in hopes of those warm, breezy summer days. But since I don't tolerate the cold very well, I want to be sure to have enough warm wear so I'm comfortable.

We are actually flying to the UK (St. Albans) to visit my brother and family after the cruise. Hope y'all will be having beautiful weather over there then!

D

Hi D, the weather this week across Northern Europe is grey, rain and 60 degrees, the week after of course summer could return, the first week of Wimbledon it usually rains and the 2nd week can be good, I usually go to a conference the week I'm on cruise and I have enjoyed a reasonable hot sunny week, so let's keep our fingers crossed. Packing a few light warmer things us sensible, the evenings you may need them.

Free Tours Stockholm has a page on Facebook where they post pictures of their daily tour groups. We found it helpful to see what people are actually wearing right now. (Check it out). After seeing so many jackets, sweaters and scarves- I know I am going to throw in a few longer sleeve shirts than I had planned

I'm with Jill, it's only a week, and I use the laundry service, but not the self help....lol I'm on holiday. The UK has just hit the 70 degrees and we are all baking hot, if it reaches 70 where we're going I will be in my shorts and vests and too hot for words.

last time we were on the azamura, even for dress up night, we were casual. The wash machines on board are free, so we did wash once as well. We bring very little with us. A backpack each is all we bring and yes we carry it on. Lost luggage sucks! Every one is different.

This is Olivia..no rules. We didn’t need a convertor for the boat. 3 weeks away!

I'm with you - jeans, polo shirts, and a sweat shirt or sweater (some white slacks for White Nights)  And don't forget a packable raincoat.  We may need it.  Does anyone know if we need an electrical converter for the hotel or ship.  I took all that stuff to China last year and really didn't need one because the hotels and ship were all wired for 110 and 220.  Jan

MY THINKING IS THAT A LITTLE OF EVERYTHING WILL WORK....ALSO REMEMBER THAT A LOT OF THE CATHEDRALS REQUIRE KNEES AND SHOULDERS TO BE COVERED.  MY COMPROMISE IS CAPRIS AND TEES.  PANTS FOR EVENING WILL PROBABLY COME IN HANDY, AS WELL AS A LIGHT JACKET OR HOODIE FOR CHIILY DINING ROOMS.

As best I can tell the average temps will be in low   70s. My partner and I are having debates over what types of clothing...I say mostly jeans and t shirts....and maybe even a sweatshirt .....she is saying more summer type clothing....what is everyone else packing?
