I have booked a "citizens walking tour" for the afternoon of Saturday June 23rd.  The tour includes:

  • a short metro tour and a story about our metro system which is the deepest in Europe
  • a visit to the Kuznechny market, the central and most pictorial food market in the city
  • a visit to a Russian Orthodox Church in operation, a story about religious life in St. Petersburg
  • a walk along Vladimirsky prospect and a visit to a porcelain store, story about St. Petersburg porcelain factory and Russian porcelain
  • a walk along part of Nevsky prospect, Anichkov bridge and around Anichkov palace
  • "minor" monuments of the city: a monument to the first photographer, monuments to St. Petersburg cats , the fountain "Time", and traditions connected with them
  • a walk through the Passage – one of the two largest department stores in St. Petersburg, which is famous because of its unusual design
  • the Square of Arts – one of the most charming squares of the city, a monument to Pushkin, the Russian museum and cultural traditions of the city
  • one of our art galleries or a souvenir market – stories about most popular Russian souvenirs and traditions connected with them, time for shopping
  • tea with Russian "pirogi" (pies) in "Shtolle" café . Tea traditions in Russia.

If anyone would like to join me, let me know!  I think this is a great way to see a little of the "regular life" of St. Petersburg.

I am still interested in doing an evening in St Petersburg.  There is a Russian Folk Show, also an evening boat ride through the canals available, or I would consider other evening tours, please reply if interested!

Hello Margaret!

We now have openings for 3 more people to join the 3 day intensive St. Pete trip.

The break down in price is as followed:

Since we already have three people, this price is definite at $550 us dollars

If a fourth person (hopefully you!) it would be: $480 us dollars

If we get a fifth person: $445 us dollars

If we get a sixth person: $410

The itinerary has changed but its in our favor since we get to see Hermitage in the morning (less people!). We still see everything as the original, just at different times. Please see below for the new itinerary!

St Pete 3 Intensive Tour
Total 24 hours

Day 1 (8.30am-7.00pm)

8.30am - meet your guide at the sea passenger port terminal next to the Immigration control. The guide will have GUIDE-GURU sign.

8.30-10.30am – St.Petersburg city introduction.

10.30-12.30am - Tour of the Hermitage museum. You will explore treasures of one of the richest world art museums, see the Royal collection of European
masters (Leonardo da Vinci, Rafael, Michelangelo, Rubens, Titian, Rembrandt etc.), a collection of French Impressionists and Post-Impressionists that is only second
to the collection in France. You will also take a special tour of the Winter palace and view royal living rooms and Gala halls.

1.00-1.30pm – take hydrofoil to Peterhof (please take some snacks with you).

1.00-3.00pm - tour Peterhof Fountain Park and Peterhof Palace. You will walk in the Upper and Lower Peterhof parks, enjoy the spectacular view on the
Grand Cascade with its shining gilded statues and Grand Peterhof palace, learn about the unique fountain system that operates without pumps, enjoy “trick
fountains” invented by Peter the Great to entertain his guests, stroll along the Finnish Gulf to admire magnificent sea-view and St.Petersburg panorama. Visit inside
Grand Peterhof Palace, see the royal gala and private living rooms, Oak Study of Peter the Great.

3.00-4.00pm – transfer to Pushkin.

4.00-5.30pm – You will tour the grand baroque Catherine palace with its endless Golden Gallery of rooms: Great Hall of Mirrors, Picture Hall, Gala Dining hall,
Marble Staircase, the legendary Amber Room etc. Your tour continues in a splendid Catherine Park.

6.00-7.00pm – transfer to St. Petersburg.

7.00pm - back onboard the ship

Day 2 (9.00-4.30pm)

9.00am - meet your tour guide, payment procedures.

9.00-10.00am - transfer to Pavlovsk.

10.00-11.30am - visit inside the Emperor Paul's palace. The Pavlovsk Palace has most exquisite interiors decorated to the tastes of the Emperor Paul and
his spouse Maria. You will observe the Italian Hall, the Grecian Hall, the Hall of War and the Hall of Peace, the Libraries of Paul I and Maria Fyodorovna, the Boudoir,
the Gala Bedroom, and the Tapestry Room decorated with very rare Gobelin tapestries from the famous Don Quixote series given to Paul I by Lois XVI. Your tour will
continue in Pavlovsk landscape park which is the one of the largest parks in Europe.

12.00-1.00pm – transfer to St. Petersburg.

1.00-1.30pm - lunch time

2.00-4.00pm - Visit the Yusupovs' palace. Tour the Yusupovs' palace, home of the wealthiest Russian noble family that is known as a place of Monk Rasputin's
murder.

4.30pm - back onboard the ship

 Day 3

9.00am - meet your tour guide.

9.00-12.00am - Comprehensive city sightseeing tour (see the Old city, Nevsky prospect, Square of Arts, the Winter Palace, Bronze Horseman, Strelka,
stop on St.Isaac's square, visit inside Peter Paul Fortress with cathedral (the city's birth place and a burial place of the Romanovs royal family). Visit inside
Spilled Blood Church. You will also see Cruiser Aurora (battleship that signalled Bolshevik Revolution) and Peter the Great's Log Cabin.

12.00-12.30pm – lunch time

1.00-2.00pm – Canal cruise through the rivers and canals. During this relaxing boat tour you will see the city from a different angle. St.Petersburg inherited many
features from its European "sister towns" Venice and Amsterdam. Similar location on islands and winding rivers determined its architectural look: it boasts of more
than 400 bridges, curving granite embankments, graceful palaces of nobility and royalty overlooking waterways. (Groups above 6 pax are provided a private boat
and have a treat of the Russian champagne onboard).

2.30pm - back onboard the ship

I hope that answers your questions!

Yes if less than 6 people take the tour it will be more.  There are 3 openings for 3 days and 1 additional opening on the second day.  Basically $160.00 per day, each person if 6 take the tour.

Is the $480 assuming we go all three days?  If a particular day doesn't fill up with 6, I guess that means our cost will be higher?

Looking for Solos to fill private tour

Solo gals, I have been looking at/researching a private 3 day tour in St. Pete.  Ideally i would like to keep the group small, limited to 6 people.  It is an "intensive" tour with lots of walking about.  It is 25 hours over 3 days.  Below is the schedule.  One spot is filled for all 3 days and  2 other spots are filled on two of the days.  Yes Visas are included, No upfront payment required.  Payment on 2nd day of tour. If all 6 spots are filled it would cost $480.00 per person

Come on ladies who is game for a fun filled Solo private tour?!
