Hello all,

I'd like to commend Donna for launching this group.  I really adore the idea of Sisters at Sea.  I've never been on a cruise  but aspire to do so very soon, just  want  be with that special someone before I break the champagne bottle.  So keep the momentum going and maybe one day I will see you all!

Donna don't be discouraged, you are doing a wonderful thing for sisters of color. It never occured to me that what you were doing was separatist, you provide an opportunity for sisters to meet one another, for us not to feel isolated. More power to you. I hope that more members of the group will take the challenge.

Im glad to see people starting to participate!  As the slack moderator who works 4 jobs--yes 4!!-I am going to do my best to pop in more often.  Especially since we have been featured.

Im looking forward to the 4 Sistas trips next year.  We are doing Western Caribbean in January, both Cancun resorts and just added the Mexican Riviera in 2008.  Sooooo hopefully we can get more sistas together on the boats.

 Im sorry that there was no harmony and unity on this past Mexican trip.  This is why we started the Sistas program, in order to provide an opportunity to meet and network with likeminded sistas.  Its very positive, yall.

 I got a little discouraged when some people went to a member of Olivia and said they thought the Sistas program was separatist and divisive.  Some Sistas said that...But not to me in person.  It broke my heart because I have worked hard to promote this unity in our community.  I almost gave up.  But reading posts like this make it impossible to give up on promoting the fun and joy of Olivia to women of color.  We need to participate and enjoy what Olivia is all about.

To bad we won't get the opportunity to meeet on the Jan. 2008 cruise. Perhaps later in the year we will meet. Sounds like you had a great time on the Mexican Riviera cruise. In the meantime let's make this a hot spot, so hot , that sisters must check everyday because it's a happening spot.

Ladies had this group been featured on the Mex. Riv. Cruise(Which I was on Oct. 20, 2007) It would have made the trip more successful(not that is wasn't) in terms of breaking the ice of getting to know one another. I was a friendly person aboard the ship(atleast I thought so).For some it to a little longer to get to know.  Now that a forum has been created and featured through Olivia. We most certainly should take advantage of this.  Looking forward to meeting you all in the very near future
