Another GREAT set of lyrics in "The Road I Took to You"  (and this is just absolutely true for me, about my partner Diane.) Listen to this:  "I was walking around in two pieces, and I never even knew....that the way back home to me was the road I took to you."  Lately I find myself singing "the road I took with you." 

But -- to you, wohelo:  I agree that the rock wearing away is just outstanding.

The songs I most like (but then I like em all) are: The Rock Will Wear Away and I Wish You Well. It is so darn hard to just select two favorites. Well in truth - it's impossible. Her music has meaning and I have been missing that in music for a very long time. When things are good - really good - they never really go away.

This is about special songs that mean so much in my life. 

Currently, one is Sweet Darlin' Woman -- in the song, Meg is singing to a lover who has left; right now for me it's about my partner who died 8 months ago.  At the end, the lyrics say "Even though you ran away, I spend every day lovin' you.  What else can I do?"  and then "Even though you run away, I will be here."  It just lets me cry and cry, and I need that.  It' on her "Face the Music" and "Best of" albums.

I have ALWAYS loved "From the Heart" -- very introspective, but also very -- I don't know -- one on one, as if Meg were singing just to you.  INCREDIBLE lyrics: " ... My heart is having her day!  I feel like crying, but I don't what is dying. .....It's time to make a new start from the heart. ..... And I feel like singing, and I don't know what's beginning, but it feels so good and true it's time to make a new start from the heart. ..... I have paid my misery dues, and the news I have to offer is that  we don't have to suffer!  We were born to rise and shine,  and this message to you has been brought by the heart!"   All that, and on top of it Meg's voice and her wonderful melody --  I have this one on the "Best of" album.
