Hi: I got my carpet  about 2 weeks after I got back. I live in Canada so I don't know if that makes a difference. Did you purchase at the Olivia designated place.

We are still waiting.....apparently there is a hold up with customs.....patience is golden??!!??

We are happy to say that we received our Turkish carpet today from Galata in Istanbul via UPS.  Wow it is a beauty and the quality is not comparable to anything we've seen for sale in California.  We plan to return to Turkey someday for at least two weeks and see more of the countryside.

Yes, we received our carpet.  It came within three weeks from when we purchased it on Oct 2nd from the same store.  It was delivered by Fedex and taxes were paid by Galata.  The routing seemed to come from New Jersey to Toronto and the wording stated, industrial carpet.  All I had to do was sign for it.

I sure hope yours arrives soon!

It took just one overnight from Istanbul to receive a quick reply from Galata.  It seems like our shipment was combined with Iranian carpets?  Will post when we receive our carpet.

Due to the embargo on Iranian Carpets, the customs clearance process for
carpets coming from Turkey as well takes much longer than usual.

Your carpets are at the customs in USA and will be forwarded to you as soon
as customs releases the container to our shipping agency.  Hopefully it will
be cleared next week.
We would like to thank you for your patience and we do apologize for any
inconvenience.

Hello for anyone left checking this group, did anyone who bought a carpet from Galata in Istanbul receive their carpet?  This is the store that our group was brought directly from the Point Hotel as part of the pre-excursion Istanbul package.  Galata was also one of the stores that contributed some of the Olivia group's sales percentages to Purple Roofs women's shelter in Istanbul which is fantastic.

We have not received our carpet but this morning I emailed them for shipping status since it has been 8 weeks to the day.  They had said it would take 6-8 weeks when we paid for it. 

I'm not too worried because we charged it on our VISA card and can always go thru VISA to get a refund, but would like to receive the carpet since the quality is unmatched from anything we've seen in the U.S.
