Fundrazr -- I'll be trying to find my way around from the Old City...everybody cross your fingers or send out the Coast Guard (does Turkey have a Coast Guard?)

I'm staying at the Arden City Hotel in the Sultanahmet district.  I'll be arriving late Wed night 9/29 so I'll have 2 days to explore before most people arrive.

Hi Chick.Skis,

I haven't made any plans post the cruise, but have 8 nights before I have to head back to Australia and was planning on heading to those places you mentioned for a few of them. Are you going to finalise your plans before the cruise?

Yia su To all who are spending some time in Athens and the surrounding area after the cruise, My plans are to stay in the Plaka district Sunday night then to rent a car and drive up to Delphi Monday morning,( 2 1/2 hr. drive) and then head towards the Peloponnese . Maybe make it to the ancient site of Olympia by evening , maybe not all depends.... and then visit  sites ,( such as Sparta,Epidavros,Old Corinth), on my way back to Athens by the 15th. Originally a friend and Her sister were going to join me but it doesn't look like they are going to be able to make it, so if there is anyone out there who would like to join me for all or part of the trip let me know... the more the merrier ....chick.skis

I am traveling solo and will be staying in Athens until Oct. 13.  Haven't come up with an itinerary yet-hope to tour some ruins and do some people watching.

I'm a little late to the posting thing, but this is my first trip with Olivia and I'm traveling solo.  I'd like to finding others who will be in Greece for up to 5 days after docking in Pireas and where you may be headed during that time. 

Getting very excited 'cause we're getting closer.

There are so many good choices to see in such a short time.  I think you are right the Blue Mosque and the markets are a top my list.  Plus I remember reading somewhere on all these different blogs about "Happy Hour at the Point"  that may make our to do list as well.

Agree that 1 1/2 days isn't enough time to see it all. Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Archeological Musuem and markets are on my list of places to see.

How is the Turkish coming along?  There are so many sights to see in Istanbul and so little time to see them.  I'm having trouble narrowing down the possibilities.  A day and a half is not enough time.  Got any recommendations on any must see sights?

Before we know it, we'll all be embarking on this new adventure. I can hardly wait. I'm travelling solo and am looking forward to seeing some amazing sights and relaxing aboard the ship. Trying to learn a little Turkish. Greek is next. I too am counting the days...
