Yes, we went to this resort with Olivia a couple years ago.  Club Med resorts are very laid back and casual.  Don't expect a fancy 5 star resort - they are not like that.  The rooms are simple, yet clean and comfortable.  There are fridges in the rooms, so if you want you can bring your favorite beverages and stock them yourselves, but honestly the bars are open pretty much from 9am to the wee hours of the night.  The resort is very safe - they have guards that make sure only Club Med guests are on the property.  Keep in mind that in Mexico all beachs are public, so anyone can walk along the front of the resort.  But the security guys do a good job in keeping "outsiders" away 

It will be very hot during the time we are there, so expect your wet clothes to take forever to dry.  We usually put our things on the balcony to dry out.  The rooms stay very humid and a little musty, but that is pretty typical for the tropics.

We are counting down the days till our vacation! We are going on American on their first flight.  looking forward to meeting you two.  have you been to this resort before?  if so, how is it?  we are staying in the least expensive rooms and I was a bit put-off to learn there is no room service or stocked minibar for those rooms.  Obviously it wasn't a deal-breaker, cause we are going! :-) just wondering what the resort/rooms are!  safe travels

We are from the northwest suburbs (Algonquin).  Look forward to meeting you.  We are on the 9am United Airlines flight out of O'Hare...Maybe we'll see you at the airport?

Anyway, you will have a great time on the resort vacations.  We have been on many, and while we like the cruises, we LOVE the resorts.  The whole trip is so casual and relaxed, you will have a great time.  The beach and water are beautiful, the the resort is so far away from the "hotel strip", you don't have to worry about crowds.

My partner Julie and I are going on our second Olivia trip.  Last time we went on the Mexican Riviera cruise and it was a great time.  Now, we are looking forward to our first resort vacation.   We live in Chicago and wondered if there are others from Chi-town on this trip.
