Excursions (at least those thru Olivia/Club Med) can be booked when we get to the resort.

Chichen Itza…though more crowded than some ruins is a must-see!!

Ek Balum is one of the newest to be uncovered…you don’t have to ride a bike (though it’s a short ride) to the Cenote…they’ll drive you over.

My brother's father in law said Chichen Itza is a must-see.  I'm all over that!  The other trip mentioned (to Ek Balum) sounds pretty interesting too, though I am not much of a bike rider.

Finally finished booking the trip :) This is the first Olivia vacation my partner and I have been on. The Ruin tour with a visit to the cenote sounds fantastic...keep me posted on the details and let me know if you need any help!!

Cenote is a large natural deep pool of water fed from underground springs in the rain forest/jungle that is exactly round in shape.    There are many in the Cancun area.   There is an "Eco" combo tour that includes  a bus trip to the Ek balum(means tiger or panther), ruin, part of which you CAN  climb up on, a small native snack, and a swim at a cenote pool, and also a mountain bicycle ride  (way too hot, the day I took the trip!!!)   I did not have to go underground to swim in that pool.  This time I will take the Chichen Iza trip...  It too is an all day one...

It’s like an underground swimming hole…there’s so many there…great fun!

There also is a newly found ruin Ek Balam that includes a cenote swim.

But if you have never been to Chichen Itza…it’s a must see!!

I think we've decided to go on the chichen itza ruin tour.  is it best to do the one offered by the hotel or  can you get a better deal going through an independent tour company?  we really want to do one where you get to swim at cenote.
