Note that these reviews are from "regular" Club Med folks and not Olivia folks but they are recent.

 

Friends of mine went some years back (at least ten I'd say) and they raved about the place.  The only bad thing, they said, was that because of the high humidity their pillows were kind of musty and since they are sensitive to mold/must that was a problem for them.  When they talke dto management they were moved and the problem was solved.  They spoke very highly of the staff, the food, and the place in general.

 

My brother and sister in law, who went to a different all-inclusive resort (not a Club Med, but in Mexico) suggested bringing a big stack of $1 bills for tips, though they said that tipping may not be "necessary" (I guess in the sense that the resort adds in an auto-tip like cruise ships do and restaurants charge large parties).

 

 

 

I did parasailing on a cruise once...it does not give you the "rush" or the "roller coaster" type thrill you would expect.  It is more like an extreme calm and the altitude does not have the same fear factor as other things like looking out the window of a skyscraper.  I mostly enjoyed the view and the only concern I felt was worrying that I would drop my camera while I took pictures.  (On the other hand, the zip line takes your breath away -- I'm going with the group on Tuesday -- loved it in Costa Rica.)

SoccerSummer-   We were wondering about parasailing also!! We want 2 do it-  You & your wife look us up if you decide to forsure do this-cause we're in!!!

There is a snorkeling shack that will let you use all the equipment you need if you don’t have your own.

The best snorkeling is right at the resort. You will see  tour boats coming and anchoring near the snorkeling area and snorkeling....   I went on a Catamaran trip to Isla deMujeres and it stopped for snorkeling...not as good as at the resort.  I will be snorkeling daily....in the snorkeling area and a little further down twoards the restaurant on the water....

We were there in 2007.  Great place - beautiful beach and water.  Wonderful resort and very relaxing.  Honestly, we never left the property.  We are not big shoppers, so not much temptation there.  I would imagine the ruins tour would be great, we just didn't want to spend most of the day on a bus.    We didn't go snorkeling, but the water looked great!

I'm sure others will have suggestions and recommendations too.

Hi

we are pumped!  We are now on tons of Cancun sites, seeing all that there is to do, but want to stay within our Olivia family.  Anyone been on this trip before that can offer suggestions?  Snorkeling is #1, maybe a bit of simple shoppiing and possibly some ruins.  My partner is disabled and will not be able to do alot of hiking or climbing in ruins,but still wants to go.
