White colored taxis are run federally and cost a bit more.

Yellow taxis are local owned and cost less.

Just keep walking till you get out of the building and then some, the marketers are very sneaky, just say "I have a ride, thanks! "

See you gals on the other side!!

Hey Candy (aka Liz) nice new profile pic!

An airport taxi does cost a bit more than that…I think to get to downtown hotels (Fiesta Americana, Sheraton) it's about $18 (US$) or so.

Old Town/Zona Romantica and also the southern part of Nuevo Vallarta (Vallarta Palace, Paradise Village) is probably about $24 (US$) or so.

And besides ignoring the "timeshare people" also ignore "hotel" and "taxi" timeshare people.  If you are going to take a taxi from the airport only buy your ticket at a taxi booth.  I think there are 2 ticket booths there…one booth lists fares higher than the other…so check them both.  Airport taxi fares are set prices and are priced by zone. You can pay in either US dollars or Mexican currency. It is usually better to pay in pesos…there are ATMs there.

If you don't have much luggage…you can also take a "non-airport taxi" which costs less.  When you pass all the timeshare and taxi people and go out of the building…to your left you'll see a ramp which leads to a bridge that crosses the main street to off property taxis (and buses too).  Again, always ask the taxi driver how much before even getting in…some drivers will barter.

Marigold, With their dollar being 13 cents to our $1.00 it's alot of money for the taxi driver. Nothing is expensive in Mexico with that in mind...See you both soon...Candy

Sweetnsassy....I love planning vacations.....it's wonderful to have it to look forward to.  Excitement gets the adrenalin going....I assume you are not being picked up by Olivia as you are going down early.  If it's only about $7, then hopefully, it's not too far from the resort.

I was just reading that after going through customs with your luggage, ignore the men in suits in the next 2 rooms between the sliding glass doors. They are timeshare people. Once you are past the 2nd set of doors you will see the taxi line where you can buy a ticket. There is also an ATM for mexican money.

This article was from trip advisor and said it should only cost about $4-7 to get to your hotel. Sleddog can you elaborate on this??? Taxi really seems like the way to go....Even if I do think I'm Elizabeth Taylor.....lol  And please don't call me Liz! Wink

You can see I'm getting goofy with only 2 days left until I travel.....
