Ah, one of my favorites as well. Story time:
When I was 15 and in high school my church youth group would go on a week long retreat to a place called Lake Lopez... near San Luis Obispo, CA. One of the things we had to do at this particular retreat was take the 23rd Psalm and paraphrase it to describe our personalities and interests... being an athlete, I wrote this interpretation:
The Lord is my coach; He keeps me in good health
He sees to it I get enough sleep and shows me where to run.
He quenches my thirst.
He leads me in my daily conditioning, for the good of the team.
Even when I am losing a game, He encourages me and gives me strength.
His voice and positive attitude give me confidence.
He gives me the right food so that calories do not overflow.
I will not forget the guiding and constant instructions He has given to me.
And when the season of life is over I’ll be with Him in His Hall of Fame.
