I would ask for each of you to pray for my extended family.  Besides losing 3 family members in two months, one of the surviving spouses is struggling with living.  He is ready to go be with his wife.  He is in his 80's, has had several strokes and honestly didn't expect to outlive any of them.  He is seeing this as unfair and is extremely frustrated that he is still alive... I don't think it will be long in coming and this family could use some peace...

So I would ask that you pray for acceptance of God's will and that His peace would find each person in this family.  For the adult children who care for him now, that God will provide them the strength to maintain and sustain him until God seeks to bring him home.  For the rest

I pray for those people as well, although I have had some hardships, losing my job is not one of them.  I am extremely grateful for that blessing.  I have several friends who are also feeling the crunch of poor economic times and I hope those in leadership positions and those who are responsible for correcting these issues are praying for guidance as well...

I join you in your prayer Kmndsgn.  My company just went through and downgraded several people yesterday.  Thank goodness they were given the option to take a lower paying job, still, they are dealing with less pay. The poor economy is hitting us all in one way or another. It should be a wake up call to all of us.  Money is nice to have, but should not be the focus and purpose of our lives. I hope and pray that those who have lost their jobs will turn to God and trust that He will provide for them.

May our prayers be with those who have lost their jobs and for those who are left behind to carry the load. Let God grant us wisdom and strength during this difficult time. That our economy will turn for the better and more jobs to be created. Amen!

Side note: Half of my firm was laid off yesturday and I'm dealing with survivor's guilt! I miss my colleages whom I've worked with over four years. The office is not the same without them!

I second that Crusher !  I would also like to add . . . . .  It would  be nice if we thank God for the blessings in our lives and remember Jesus on His birthday.   So often we pray for Gods help,  and we should !,  but it would be nice if we remember to give Him praise and thank Him for all that He does.

Thank you ladies, really appreciate your thoughts and prayers.  My son and I are working through things and are progressing.  Getting through the holidays will be a challenge, yet knowing that this is a time of birth and renewal is also helpful in our healing process.  I wish all of you a Merry Christmas and hope that you all will feel God's presence in each of your lives.

I think it is a good idea to have a request here and responses elsewhere.  If the responses are in the same place, the requests may be lost. 

I thought that it might be a good thiing to have a prayer request thread.  I think responses should be made elsewhere so that we can make the list easier to read and sequential.  If you all think that responses are warranted, please let me know.  This is our forum so before we start the request list, I would like input from our members about whether we should have responses to the requests, or just a list of requests and a separate thread for responses or discussion regarding these requests....
