To me my Spirit is what GOD breathed into me, making me a living human. So I would see myself the most Spiritual is when I am walking in love in my actions and deeds with my fellow man, no mater the circumstance, for GOD is the true meaning of real LOVE when HE sent us SON to die for us.  Some would believe that it can just be a place within that they go to when they mediated no mater what that is.

Spirituality is such the essence of all good actions.  Spirituality is God's hand in the world whether people know it or not.  To me, spirituality is defined like this...

In Vain

If I can ease one life the aching,
or cool one pain,
or help one fainting robin
unto his nest again,
I shall not live in vain.

...Emily Dickenson

This so lovely poem is one of many inspirations that makes me strive to make the world a better place one action at a time.  My students were examining this poem in class the other day, and one of my students, who is in a wheelchair, came in with a blotchy face saying:

"I just wanna walk, and it's not fair..."

My students were the essence of this poem as many of them went up to him and just smiled or chatted with him, and as we read the poem to him, dedicated it to him, his pain was eased if only for a moment..

Thank you all for your interesting perspectives on this...I do believe spirituality is perceived in many forms individually.

For me, it is the knowing and being in tuned with my (hyer) higher power while navigating my way through my journey.  Seeing the goodness in others despite differences.  Feeling Gods presence.  A calm peace in my soul. Leaving religion at the alter. I do believe religion has it's place as a foundation, then Christianity is constructed as the walls and roof that house what's inside but the content inside is what I see as spiritual. It is HOME!

For me, spirituality is bringing to life my thoughts and beliefs.  I can say that I am a Christian , and that I have faith and trust in God.  It isn't until my action meet my words that I am truly living a spiritual life.

Spirituality for me is who I really am, the true me.  My core and my connection to God to those whom I love and come into contact with.  Something I can get in touch with much easier when I slow down and listen, take time to feel even when it may be uncomfortable.  You can learn much when you are simply quiet...Trying to take the the wheel over when I don't really know how to steer.  It was hard for me to relax, enjoy the ride & the scenery while I was younger.  It is much easier now.

I think being spiritual or having spirituality is the ability or gift of being aware of the power of God around you and in your life.  It is a force that can comfort, irritate, provoke and inspire you to move in different directions.  Appreciating nature and the magnitude of the beauty around us, even in small things is being in tune with your spirituality.

I would like to know how you see spirituality in your life or do you?
