Well I'm glad to report that we survived Mardi Gras and had a blast! the parade was absolutely fantastic and the atmosphere electric.  On the Sunday, we did a bit of a pub crawl up Oxford Street before settling into a girls bar called "slide" which was excellent.  It was very classy with a mezzanine level overlooking the 1970's saturday night fever style checkered light dance floor, a large central bar with sexy blue mood lighting and comfortable couches.  Great or dancing, drinking and even talking.

Just after midnight we ventured across the road to Candy v Bitch (lesbian after party) and rocked away until the wee hours with great bands as well as sexy and tasteful g-string clad, topless pole dancing ladies.

All in all, Mardi Gras is a must for anyone travelling to Australia in March of any year.

Cheers

Anyone Going/Previously been to Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras?

Thought I'd start a post on Sydney's Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras seeing as it is there 30th Anniversary this year!  What a fantastic effort.

I have a group of 9 women from the Gold Coast and another 7 from Perth who will converge on Sydney from 29 Feb until 1st March 2008.  Should be a blast!

It is rumoured that Kylie Minogue will be the feature act at the After party and will also do a duet with her sister Danni.  Cyndi Lauper will be making an appearance as will Olivia Newton John.  Should be a night to remember!

Anyone else in the world planning on attending, or attended previous Sydney Mardi Gras?

If any ladies of Olivia, friends/family ever plan to visit Australia, it is well worth coinciding your trip to watch the parade which is generally held on the 1st Saturday of March every year.  For more info, visit www.madigra.org.au.

Cheers
