For 2010 I think we are looking at the Cancun resort - we thought we'd  try something a little less rocky - although we loved every minute of the cruise  - the thought of sleeping in late and laying on the beach a lot sounds pretty awesome - we'll have to see .... keep dancing your weasel dance - mesmerize your bunny!

Just saw Doria again this week in Atlanta performing and recording for a new project.  She was mesmerizing as usual, so talented and beautiful.  I sure wish that I lived near Michigan.

Chrissy-Bunny came up with the "Weasel" thing years ago as a sort of cute "pet" name for me and I had been calling her "Bunny-girl" since right after we had met. Well, one evening while watching National Geographic or one of those animal type shows, we got a BIG laugh when they did a segment on weasels. Apparently, weasels eat bunnies and to catch bunnies they do this crazy little "dance" type of thing and they sort of hypnotize the bunnies. While the bunnies are just sort of frozen there watching this "weasel dance" the weasels then pounce on them!! We just thought that that was hysterical so the "Weasel" and "Bunny" names just kind of stuck!! I wasn't named Weasel based on any kind of character traits or anything, but I can do one heck of a silly Weasel dance!!!

As for the 2010 cruise being your graduation gift to yourself, I say, YES, YES, YES!!!!

Wow - thanks Sleddog - I should have known that Olivia and Judy were involved. Thanks for the background. It is on our list since we absolutely loved Doria on the cruise - (the Honey Jar song get's played a lot). We also saw Amy Ray perform in St. Louis in the fall at Blueberry Hill and can't stop playing her music either - lots of passion and beautiful kind eyes. She signed Amy's (my partners) tank top while it was still on her.... 

Anyway - Hello to you Bunny and Weasel - Nikki you don't strike me as a weasel but - your friends apparently know you better... Congrat s to Bunny for the upcoming graduation - I graduated last May with a BS in Computer Science - I am half through my Masters in Information Technology mgmt now. The 2010 cruise could  be my graduation gift to myself...

The Michigan Woman Fest might be as inspiring as an Olivia trip because when it first began ~ many of the performers ~ and still some today ~ were on the Olivia Record label or were distributed by Judy and Olivia Records!  Olivia Records can take the credit as to where this and we as a community all began!!!

And yes, Nikki is definitely a Weeeeasel!

No, we have never been to the Michigan Women's Fest, but we do hope to go sometime in our future. We live down here in Treasure Island, Florida so, it's a pretty big trip for us to plan. We would have to fly in and Chrissy-Bunny would have to have about a week or so off of work. She's limited this year on the amount of time off that she has left due to having taken the week for the cruise and then had to take a week off for exam/comps week for Eckerd College. She will be graduating in May and then will probably continue on to her Masters degree next year. Anyways, we do want to check it out sometime!!

Yes, Miss. Xanthe definitely has a fan club!!! It's great to know that she has so many of us out there!! She truly is a good woman!! Hopefully, we can talk her into booking the Western Carribean 2010 cruise that we're going on!! That would be awesome!! You two should consider it as well!! It's going to be a fun cruise and it's also the 20th anniversary of Olivia Travel. There's also some pretty cool ports to check out.

I do remember Nikki though - I think we talked a few times on the cruise - is Nikki the Bunny in Bunny and Weasel? Are you ladies Michigan Woman fest veterans as well? We've never been but have heard it is as inspiring as ann Olivia trip.

Xanthe definitely has an aire about her!! She completely fits the term "fancy"!! Well spoken, kind, beautiful, intelligent and carries herself as not just a woman, but a lady!! We admire her immensely!!

Hey FancyXanthe - we love the story about your name...lol you must have an aire about you so to speak. We have the X in common as both Amy and I have Ex-husbands who weren't too bright but knew we were in the wrong relationships...thanks in part to them we found out way out and found each other.

We'll check the Michfest site out as the Canadian's pointed out and check back to see if anyone wants to meet up when it gets closer.

oh and ps. as to the softball - I am a long standing player since about the third grade, if you don't want to play there are lots of opportunities to be found in watching the gals play. We love to pretend that people actually come out to do more than drink beer :)

Hi Ginamy!

First things first: They better come out of hiding for kickball, cuz that's what I'm playing this summer!  I seriously debated softball, but it's just a bridge too far for me.  Can't do that big leather glove thing.. just can't do it.  At least kickball won't require the purchase of any new equipment or costuming.  I'll wear my grandma's Keds and feel quite chic.

Secondly, FancyXanthe: the very first of his friends that my ex-husband introduced me to were a lesbian couple he worked with.  I can't say we hit it off, but he did tell me they referred to me from then on as Fancy Xanthe.  (Xanthe would be my real name. Zan-thee.) What can I say?  I chose to take it as flattery, as I do most of what I don't understand.

 Thirdly, Michigan:  I am going to look into it!  I'll keep you posted!

Ginamy, Have you checked out the Michfest bulletin boards? You can find lots of info about the fest there. If you look under "What to Bring..What to Wear" there is a thread called Packing Tips. There you can find the info on how to get a hold of "Babs Tips for First-Timers". That should help a lot.

Doria Roberts and Amy Ray are both listed as playing at Friday Night stage. Based on previous festivals, that should start about 8pm. 

Unfortunately, we won't be going to Fest this summer but hopefully next year. It is probably my favourite place to go in the world. 

Toronto Chicks - does that you mean you're coming from Canada? I may be in Toronto on business in a few weeks. I've never been to Canada nor the Music Fest. We're very excited about going - have heard it is an awesome experience.

Can you give us any tips about camping. We like to camp and have gear but aren't sure about how much to pack. I tend to pack way too much and we're going to lug our stuff by train so I need some help.
