When we did Olivia last year in Cancun they had a catamaran day trip with snorkeling, it was great fun. We are hoping that they have something similar at Columbus Isle.

I'd love to get some snorkeling in. Unfortunately for me, I've let my diving certificate expire and I'm not sure I want to do the lesson thing again, but some good snorkeling sounds awesome. Besides, I might be able to convince Ann to try snorkeling, but diving is definitely out. Anyone been to Columbus Isle before and know where the good spots are?

We actually live smack dab in between Buffalo and Niagara Falls, I still can't fathom that their going to want a passport to go to Canada, after all it's not like a foreign country or anything it's Canada for crying out loud. On the same principle that Sara Palin thought she was an expert in foreign relations because she could see Russia form her house I should be the freakin Ambassador to Canada because I can see Canada from my house....and your wildlife is safe with me unlike those poor Wolves in Alaska.

Tanqueray59, I think we are neighbours. We live the other side of Lake Erie & a little to the left !!!!!

Oh, just the thought of jumping into the lake right now, gives me the shivers!

Lake Erie is a bit cold this time of year to even consider jumping in.....unless you're a member of the Polar Bear club......and that would not be me. However, I have been considering a few lessons at the resort; I love snorkeling but have never tried diving

Hey, Seagrits!  I might decide to join you.  I have really been giving the diving thing more thought.  BTW, we are from Cajun country.  We live in Zachary, about 15 miles north of Baton Rouge.  Looking forward to meeting ya'll!!!

I am taking lessions while I'm there.  I decided this is the time and I'm going for it.  I thought about taking lessons before the trip but the water around Seattle is too damn cold for me to enjoy.  I'm looking forward to some warm air and warm water.

I expect I'll be doing some snorkeling, too.  I really enjoy the sea- it's like walking in the woods, except that the animals don't run away.  Well, not all of them run away :)  And you see some crazy stuff- a pile of squids floating by, colorful fish hanging out, funny crabs and such peeking out of holes, urchins waving their spiny, er, spines, etc etc.  I particularly like being able to look underwater without having to jump up for air all the time.  I'm not a strong swimmer, and that back-and-forth-for-air stuff wears me out!  With a snorkel I can just paddle along, rest every now and then, and check out the underwater denizens.  For me, it's a great way to spend an afternoon!

Would love the experience, but I'm afraid I will have to satisfy myself with pictures.  I have never been underwater in this life time though I think I had previous aquatic life experiences.  Maybe I'll try some snorkeling.Hmm

I hope to get in a dive or three while at Columbus Isle- anyone else up for some underwater sight-seeing?
