Hello Annee,

Club med does offer a resort diving course.  However you will much more relaxed and enjoy your diving experience better if you were to take a diving course before hand and also do a few dives locally if you are able.

The diving was pretty good while we were there.  We saw some hammerheads, reef sharks, a few turtles, lots of barracuda and a few rays.

The dive crew is pretty good and you can opt to have a guide to go with you if you would like.

Hope this helps.

My partner and I are going in May.  I read on the web that Columbus is terrific diving.  I've no previous diving experience.  Did you have diving experience before your trip to Columbus Isle?  Since I want to take best advantage of the diving for the week do you have recommendations for being prepared.  Should I take diving lessions before the trip or are they available at the resort?  Thanks, Annee

So do we know when they are going to start posting any of the traveler info? Curious minds want to know and all.

The last thing we knew was that Olivia was going to arrange for a charter flight (s) out of either FLL or Miami.  I don't think they have made that decision yet ???????????  If they have, clue us in so we can make arrangements !!!!!!!!  Looking forward to this vacation....it is supposed to be so serene and beautiful.  Have a good evening...

Absolutely totally getting goosebumps thinking about this trip! Anyone have suggestions on how to get there from Miami? I'm spending a few days there before going to the Island.

I have posted a few more room/building pictures for those of you who are trying to decide room type. Since the resort is small, all buildings are really a short walking distance to main restaurant, pool & beach. We had an oceanview room (#364) on the 1st floor & as you can see by our photos from our balcony it is more garden, ocean is way off in the distance. We would recommend 2nd floor for the rooms in the lower numbers for a better view. The best building in our opinion are 600's they had a clear views of the ocean if that is your preference.

Hope this helps...we are thinking about going back since it was such a great resort!  Off to Cancun resort in 6 days & planning on the Nov Cruise.

Has anyone noticed that under the entertainment tab on this trip, it no longer shows Suzanne W. That is the main reason we booked this trip. Has anyone heard that she is not going to be on this trip?

Not much bugs for us in Dec as it was nice & breezy at night & never a problem during the day with temps in the 80's the week we were there. Although definitely pack bugspray should help with any bug issues.

We are leaving for Cancun in 2 wks & already packed it.

Thanks for posting the pictures, Columbus Isle looks Gorgeous!  Someone else had posted that bugs almost ruined the trip for them.  Did you have that experience?

We absolutely LOVED Columbus Isle, but it was special because it was our 1st Olivia trip in Dec 06. For those who want to view pictures, we have a few on our profile. Will post again later to address room locations etc.

Getting ready for Cancun II in 3 weeks!

Hello JeanneO!

We just got back a week ago from the Cruise for the Cause trip.  This was our first cruise with Olivia after 2 resort trips (Punta Cana '07 and Purto Villarta '07).  We just signed up for Columbus Isle while on the cruise.  We signed up for this particular trip because we heard from several women that it was awesome.  Small resort, intimate, beautiful beaches.

Looking forward to experiencing it for ourselves next year
