Yes I agree, the last couple of episodes have been pretty good.

Oh well, there's still the final season episode next Sunday. Then 8 more next year...........

I am so bummed!  I feel like the show is just hitting it's stride.  After a rough couple of season's, I feel like this season has been one of the best.

I just watched this week's last night.  WHEW!  what a great episode!!!!

I am SO gonna miss this show!

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - "The L Word" is set to take its final bow. Showtime has renewed the lesbian drama for a sixth and final season, which will make it one of the premium network's longest-running series.

Eight episodes have been ordered, targeted to go into production in early summer for an early 2009 premiere.

While past seasons generally have consisted of 12-13 episodes each, Showtime executives and series creator/executive producer Ilene Chaiken believed that eight additional episodes were creatively what was needed to wrap up the story lines.

"The L Word" follows a group of Los Angeles-based friends as they navigate careers, families, friendships, personal struggles and romantic relationships. The series became the first lesbian primetime drama on television when it debuted in January 2004. Its stars include Jennifer Beals and Mia Kirshner.

Chaiken, who created the series with Kathy Greenberg and Michele Abbott, said the show will live on, interactively.

"This is by no means the end of 'The L Word,'" she said. "The brand and the social network community, OurChart.com, will continue to live and be a destination for lesbians everywhere and a lasting tribute to what 'The L Word' has accomplished."

She added that fan input will play a part in wrapping up the series' story lines, noting the role that viewer input has played in the past.

"The L Word," which received a GLAAD Award for best drama series, also has a big following in virtual world Second Life and has spawned such branded products as perfume, jewelry and books. The Season 5 finale is set to air March 23.

Re: The L Word. Greatest show so far.

I think that this weeks episode was one of the best in quite a while (and not just because there was ALOT of sex).  I think all the characters were really ON.  I liked the cheesy sit down and how Bette took over and negotiated the deal.  I REALLY LIKED the scene in the elevator with Bette & Tina.  The cute footsy, getting to the core of how they feel.  It was a really well done scene.  We both got all misty when Bette made the comment about "coming home".  Yes, I like Jody and she will be devastated when she finds out but I have always thought the chemistry between B&T was the best on the show and am very happy to have them back together.  I even liked the scene between Max and Tom.  Altho it's pretty weird for a gay and trans-man to have hetro sex.  but like Max said in the pod-cast, its about inclusion and tolerance.  I cracked up over Shane with the video camera.  And Kit busting Bette about Tina.  All the characters were just great.  still could do without Jenny and dumb-***-actor-girl but even they didn't ruin this episode for me.

Hi Artgirl!

I have to say that L is up & down for me. This week it wasn't too bad at all.

Less bitchin', less of Jenny & the actress, some indication that Bette & Tina might get together again. The Tasha case is interesting even though it's kind of weak. Shane is forever unbelievable
even though we love her!!! BUT, where oh where is my Jane Lynch, the lawyer. She's a good actress & good to look at but they do give her odd lines at times. I'd rather suffer the odd lines than not see her at all!!!!

Everygreen...I think the show has always been the same.  It just depends on what particular buttons it presses for each of us!  It's pretty interesting.  haha!  I don't know where they're going exactly!

Isha!  I don't think Shane's character will ever be tamed.  That would take away the shock value!

Bitchy SheBar competion to the Planet? Wow, I NEVER would want to associate with people like that, or will watch them for entertainment, gay or straight.

Lengthy "Oil Wrestling"???? I'm sure it might happen but shouldn't be a major part of one episode!! (Or even one!!)

Jenny & her friend, in heat, are totally unbelievable.

I wish Bette would make up her mind!

Is it just me or is this show taking a major dive this year?

This week's thoughts...And some of last week's too...

Jenny's assistant Adell...What are they going to do? Have a Single White Female storyline with her? In all seriousness, the suspense would be great for the show if they continued to mold her character into someone incredibly freaky...

Jenny's sex scene in the closet with Nikki from last week's episode...Well, I thought it was just plain hot.

Tina's body? WHOA! And Tina and Bette's bodies together? WHOA! I totally understand the fact that Bette is cheating on Jodi, which isn't something that I in any way agree with...But I'm digging the fact that they're exploring the sexual tension between Bette and Tina...And I'm digging the fact that they're really showcasing the way they look at one another and the way they smile at one another. If you take out the cheating aspect, I think it's really sweet. But naturally, it's bound to get all screwed up soon.

I think the entire She Bar plot is pretty cheesy and I can't quite figure out if they're trying to intentionally make the character of Dawn Denbo really corny...

As for Shane and her vertical sex, I can't figure it out either. I'm all about trying new things and exploring my options, but seriously? Maybe this is how the kids are doing it these days...

Bette and Tina just need to get together for good, work on their relationship and raise their daughter, and add a sense of stability to the show.

(Cheryl: There are commercials on Logo for Olivia? Are they on during a certain show? There's a picture of us in them? LOL! That's HYSTERICAL!)

My thoughts...  I am so disgusted with Bette & Tina...  Bette is cheating!!!  Why does Tina think that it is okay for Bette to do it now but it was not okay when she cheating on her with Ms. Carpenter!!!

Artgirl -- Thanks for inviting me.

My thoughts... Do you think it's possible that Tina is "pulling a Bette" to get Bette back for what Bette did to her?  I feel a weird twist coming. If they did get back together, then Jodi would have to go away.  Who else on the show would go with her?  She doesn't have chemistry with anyone else... yet.  I love Shane. I have since the beginning, but I agree with the "vertical sex" statement.  How does she do that?   I can't stand Jenny and her assitant is getting freaky trying to look like Jenny.  And what's with blaming Shane for the haircut?  She's fake.  SheBar needs to burn down (with nobody inside of course) because I like the Planet better.  Anyway... someone else's turn now...
