Does anyone know what is going on with the entertainment for the 35th BB Cruise?  Looks like all promised extra celebs have been pulled.  What is going on at Olivia?  I feel like they are being dishonest with us--promising a big celebration and then pulling any name entertainers off after they have advertised them.  Not fair.  Seems like false advertising to me.  We are very upset at this point.

Whew, disappear for a bit and the site goes wild, finally!!!  Glad to be reading some great post, keep it up!

Ok, about the gift exchange, I have always done it the day of sailing.  I am planning on meeting up on the Lido Deck, at the Lido Bar and Pool.  Once we settle in, LOL, like, throw your carry on bags down in the room and run back up to the Lido deck with your group gifts.  There we start to settle in and put the gifts on a table, have a drink, gather in a circle, chat and then folks can pick a gift off the table.  So be sure to carry your gifts onto the ship, for checked bags do not arrive to your room till later.

Now, for those of us that will be attending the pre-party at the Host hotel, I will see you there!  Would love to get a group gathered there also, maybe we can try to get a few tables together.  If I can get a count on who will be there, I will try to set something up b/4 hand with Olivia!  If anything else, just look for a bunch of balloons at one of the tables, that is where I will be.  It will be great to meet up at the pre-party and then the next day on the ship on the Lido deck.

So happy to read that all of you gals are shoppers!!  Good to read that gifts are gathering in closets, suitcases, bags and such!!  I can hardly wait to see what you gals have come up with for the group gifts!!!  Oh, we are going to have so much fun!!

Keep on checking into the main topic page, that is this one, to stay informed.  For other hints read my travel tips page.

See ya soon!

Smile   Hi Folks, unless I missed it, did we decide on what, where, when we will be swapping gifts/items/surprises?  If so, please advise...if not, can we revisit this idea?   It's getting close and we are getting excited

Any folks from the CT/NY area joining the cruise?  We have access to a house in Florida but wanted to make sure we do not miss the pre-party.  How can we get information on where and time?  Is there a dress code for the party or any parties aboard the ship?  Should I at least bring a costume should there be a need for a costume party?  If so, what is the theme.  Never had the pleasure of being aboard an Olivia event before so I want to be prepared...or should I just "wing it" and see what happens?

Comments, suggestions welcome!!!!  See ya soon!

We arre staying at the sleep inn in Dania FL. Its about $100 and has airport and port shuttles.

Check in usually starts around noon I think. We dropped off our luggage in these big bins outside the port  and stood in line. This was in San Diego. I don't know it Fl is different.

Hey Raven!

For our cruise in March we stayed in a Comfort Inn. It was a nice, basic hotel and provided transportation from the airport and to the cruise terminal. Don't know how much it cost because we used our Choice Hotel points and got it free. If you are interested I can find a link to it.

Hiya, Fickle!

Welcome to your first cruise! We are flying in the morning of the cruise, so not booking a hotel. That saves us a bunch! I am also trying to lose some weight before the cruise. I'll have to buy new clothes - oh well ;)

Where are you in Canada? We got married in Vancouver 4 years ago and will be returning there in a couple of weeks. My wife's mother lives in the Seattle area and we are flying up there and driving to Vancouver and Whistler.

I am also anxious to see who the headliner will be. On our last Olivia cruise it was Wynnona and she was awesome! I really wanted to go on the Melissa Etheridge cruise a few years ago, but unfortunately it was at a rather critical time for my job. I'm a teacher and just cannot take off time in March and April. Maybe Melissa will join us on this cruise. I'll be the one drooling on the deck!

So, my ticket has been booked and confirmed for awhile now but i still haven't done my hotel room yet. Just want to get a decent, cheap place near the port, but i have a question. When are we supposed to go to the port to get on the ship,?? because if it's not till later in the afternoon and check out times are usually around 11 or noon, i don't want to schlep my luggage everywhere. I know i always wait till last minute on everything. but hey it always works out in the end. thanks for any advice. and yes i'm extremely excited for this trip i mark the days on my calendar!Party!!!

It's not the destination, but the journey....

Hey Brenda -

I havent been anywhere -- let alone a cruise! I am excited for the trip and glad we booked our airfare through Air Canada and lucked out to reserve the Harbour Beach Hotel before the price increased-- I think that is unfair as the hotel is under construction during that time anyway. I think we who booked the hotel at the "Olivia" special get to sleep next to hammers! ha!
I am so excited and hope to start getting slimmer by the date. I keep checking the site for updates on performers or excursions but I guess we are still too early :sigh:

Hey, Kathi!

The wife and I are excited about the trip. I keep lurking around looking for some action on this board, too. Maybe you and I will get it going :)

We were on the Westerdam in March. We love the ship and can't wait to get back out there. Really loved our Half Moon Cay day on our last Olivia cruise! The Grand Turk stop will be a first for us and I am researching shore excursions for that day. Have you been to Grand Turk?

The host hotel, Marriott Harbor Beach is fully booked for the Olivia price.  "Best" price available is now $359 per night.  Yikes! Does anyone familiar with the area have any other suggestions for those of us who were slow on the hotel reservations?

Great, I have United when flying out, hum, guess I had better check to see what will happen on the return end.   So much for buying our tickets early, lol.

Thanks for the post gals, have been so busy at work, just coming home and doing the hum drum and hitting the hay.   All the yard work is done, well kinda, and the house is gettting in order just in time for my Mom and sister to come for a visit.  Will be fun having them here for the 4th, do a cookout and then that weekend go down to the waterfront for Tall Ships.  Big event here that brings in the big sailing ships from all over for a big to do up here.   Lots of fun!!

So how is everyone making it through the heat waves?  It has been getting hotter and hotter up here, whew!  The nights cool down by 20 degrees, and it feels so good.  If it is going to be hot, I need to be by a pool with a cold one!  lol.

Ok, best be off and hitting the hay, long drive tomorrow and up at 4am.

Keep posting!!

We had flights with United that we purchased in November. We got the notification Friday and were told they were going to let us know what they were going to do tomorrow. Kind of shabby if you ask me. We're not sure how we're getting down there now. :-(
