RainbowWeddingNetwork.com and SameLoveSameRights.com® was disappointed to learn that
UPS has denied health coverage to the spouses of their gay and lesbian employees who have entered into a civil union. While the New Jersey ruling for Civil Unions falls short of equal marriage for all the citizens of New Jersey, companies such as UPS have an obligation to honor the language and intent of the Civil Union law that states “Civil Union couples shall have all of the same benefits…as are granted to spouses in a marriage.”
It is imperative that we hold companies and other institutions accountable, to adhering to any new legislation that upholds Equality. In New Jersey, and in states all across America, RainbowWeddingNetwork.com and SameLoveSameRights.com® will continue to take the steps necessary to insure equal rights in marriage for same-gender couples.
