Don't worry about loosing art and music. The classroom teacher CAN incorporate it in their planning. It just takes a whole heck of a lot of research for the right lesson plans to match your standards (sorry for the pep talk, but I'm an optimist).

Good luck on your house sale, and I hope you and your partner reunite soon.

Talk to you soon...

Hi! I've been offline for awhile.  My new job is great.  Much less stressful with a much easier principal.  I even have a planning time!  I'm living with relatives right now, while my partner is 'back home' getting our house ready for sale.  So, that is the bad part.  I'm here, and she's there.  But hopefully, we'll get it together soon.  I was beginning to regret my decision when I heard today that the superintendent where I used to work said this week that if things get much worse, art and music would be cancelled and the classroom teachers could teach those subjects - ha!  I'd like to see that!

So, so far, so good.  Now, we just need to get that house sold and find a new one.

new job

Hello to all here -

Big news!  I just got a new job!  For those of you who do not know, Florida is in deep economic doo-doo.  Here, property taxes is what pays for schools, but with so many retired people living here, they all say they shouldn't have to pay for schools, as their children are grown.  So, the lovely folks here voted to reduce property taxes once, and another amendment is on the ballot for November to get rid of all property taxes paying for schools.  The governor said he would hold education "safe" but that is not the case, and schools are scrambling.  The county to the east of me has laid off 200 teachers.  To the north, they have cut art and music by 50% so half of those teachers are either being forced to teach other things, or don't have a job.   So, I went looking and found a great job in Newnan, Georgia.  I have to start July 29, so that leaves my poor partner here to pack up the house and get it ready for sale.

Anyone on this list in Georgia?
