The LOGO segment filmed on your cruise was aired as part of the "Be Real" series.

These shows usually highlight two different stories.  One of those stories followed a college age lesbian as she took her first lesbian (Olivia) cruise.   

I found the segment (about 15 minutes in length) to be quite a good representation of your cruise and that womyn's experience.

It aired about a month ago.  If I see it listed again, I will post it here. 

I know there was a film crew on the cruise following a couple of girls around for a special that's supposed to be aired on the LOGO channel (not sure if you have that in Australia Stumpy but it's basically a cable station with GLBT programming, I think it's part of the MTV networks).

However, I could have sworn there was also an Olivia film crew along with the Olivia photographers.  I think the closest we'll come to a DVD of the cruise is watching the LOGO special, but it never airs when it's scheduled to, so whatever!

This is the 2nd cruise that I've been on and the other one didn't have a DVD made either (mar 07).  I was under the impression a DVD was being done for this cruise as there was the camera crew present taking shots etc.

Given the evidence of the intention - Donkeypal's photo taken NOT to appear, the mention at the Olivia 35yrs and the presence of the film crew - I wonder what has happened.  I don't believe for a minute that there was no intention of making the DVD.

On the previous March cruise there were no photos taken and the film crew wasn't there.  Yes the photographer was there both trips so I know the difference between the two.

What's going on?????  Just be honest with us...

I agree -either make them for all cruises or not at all.

Luckily, we did take a bunch of pictures and a few video clips with our digital camera but it would have been nice to see our friends and highlights of our first Olivia cruise on a DVD.

I think Olivia needs to make a decision...either produce a DVD of EVERY trip, or don't produce any at all!  It's not fair for some trips to receive a DVD while others don't.

Also, I'm a little disappointed at the pics on the "featured" slide show.  Most of them were of the entertainers and the staff, not very random.  I can't imagine that of ALL the pictures that the Olivia photographers took on the cruise (and I'm sure they took lots because we always saw them around wherever we were), only 29 of them are featured on the site.

As for the DVD, I could have sworn that during the video presentation they showed on the cruise (the one of Olivia's 35 years), it was mentioned it would be included in the DVD of our cruise which they apparently had no intention of producing.  Was it just me or did anyone else remember hearing that?

Anyhoo, as I said before, we did get the credit from Jeri (thank you Jeri!) and will be traveling on the FUNraiser cruise next March!  Hooray for free drinks!

The sad part for me was we did not take tons of pictures as we thought there would be a DVD made, like other trips.  We had our pictures taken on the ship to NOT be in the DVD- so that just reaffirmed you would be making a video for all of us.

You said you would credit us- and I appreciate that.

But it does not help for the lost pictures we could have taken.

Our friends who went for their first cruise are NOT happy.

I am not either!

It's definitely true.  I e-mailed Olivia a couple of weeks ago and got a response that they did not produce a DVD of our cruise.  Needless to say, my partner and I were not pleased.  I sent an e-mail back letting them know how disappointed we were that we wouldn't be getting a DVD of our first Olivia cruise (that was promised to us when we booked the cruise the year prior).  I actually got a response back from Jeri Umble (of the Ask Jill/Jeri site) offering us a $100 onboard credit (each, $200 total) for the March 2009 cruise.  Well, we booked it so at least our drinks and gambling will be paid for on that cruise.  I'm still pissed that we didn't get a DVD though....let's hope they produce one for the next cruise!

Oh please tell me that is not true! Took friends for the 1st time and they will be crushed! We had our pics taken to not be in the DVD- why would they change that????

I would ask- in Ask Jill/Jeri- but apparently only a selected group of people can be on it- have to ask permission- and I did and they haven't let me on. No one goes to the "lounge". Anyone else know about the Ask Jill/Jeri site???
