Hi, 50+ers (and those who are close or who just want to hang out with us mature women!),
This is Fuzbare's (A.K.A. Robin's) partner, LeAnn. It appears that there is lots of interest in getting together, but this group is a little like herding cats, what with some interested in first seating vs. second seating vs. casual dining.
Therefore, here is what Robin and I will be doing, and if you want to congregate where we are, then at least people can meet and make the plan that suits them the best.
1. We will be at the stern of the ship on the Lido deck for the Sailaway party at 10 p.m. Sunday night. We will wear our rainbow-colored feather boas, so we shouldn't be hard to spot (unless there is a run on rainbow boas as a fashion statement on this cruise!).
2. We suggest that this group, including any of the "Long Termers" who are interested, meet at the Explorer's Lounge on the Lower Promenade Deck at 2 p.m. on Monday afternoon. That way people can meet and greet and figure out who wants to eat where with whom. Again, Robin and I will be wearing our feather boas.
3. Since it appears that Monday night may be formal night, we are discarding our feather boas for a long black elegant dress (Robin) and tails (yours truly). We will still plan to be at or near the head of the dining line at the UPPER Vista Dining Room on the Promenade Deck for the FIRST seating at 6 p.m. We will plan to be there by 5:45 p.m. Anyone in the group who wants to meet us for dinner, please come shortly thereafter so we can figure out how many seats/tables we need and then go en masse to commandeer them.
Miss Sally, I imagine that some of us can join the Long Termers some evenings, but this 50+ group appears to be mostly first seating, so that's why we went that way for our first dinner.
Judy, if you want to make a sign, I am proposing that it say simply, "L." An "L" is the Roman numeral for 50. (I had to Google that to remind myself, and when I saw it was an "L," I thought how perfect for all of us L's.) That sign wouldn't exclude our under-50 friends, but it would still identify ourselves to each other without being blatant about it.
Robin and I are looking forward to meeting all of you soon. Safe travels!
LeAnn
P.S. It's now Tuesday (12:01 a.m.)! Just five more days!
