If bugs are attracted to you, you might want to put on some spray before sunset...that's when they tend to come out and stick around during the evening hours.  Most of the time during the day, you should be fine.  If you go on an excursion that takes you more into the jungle, best to take some spray with you.  In Punta Cana, we weren't affected during the day unless we went to the Archery area which was backd up against the jungle.  Malaria was a slight possibilty there per the CDC, so we put spray on back in archery and sprayed our exposed skin at night.  Best to bring some and do what makes you comfortable.

I know someone who stayed at this Club Med last year around the same time.  I was happy to hear that they didn't have any bugs in their room...but they did have one little invader...a crab.  Yes, they were on the 2nd floor and a crab made it into their room.  I had to laugh...the maid took care of it for them.

Dear CC,  When we went on the Mexican Riviera Cruise last year, they told us to bring insect repellent with DEET, due to Dengue fever carried by  mosquitos especially if you are going into the jungle. Deep woods off has a sufficient amount of Deet, but there are other kinds to chose from as well.    See you all soon!!  Sylvia and Linda

Yes! Bring insect repellent if you tend to attract mosquitoes (like I do!)

I’ve been to this Club Med two times, and both times, got to be on a first-name basis with all of the mosquitoes whenever I forgot to apply repellent.

Since bug spray has been mentioned on this trip and on the Cancun I, we are wondering....are there a lot of bugs that bite???  Snail Okay, snails don't bite but that was the closest thing I could find.  Don't worry....nothin' is going to stop us from going to the beach.  We can't wait to see everyone!
