Brewmax, the walk WAS incredible!! We have already signed up for next year. I can't describe the feeling. It is life changing!

I am sorry to hear about Mary's aunt but you can't complain about 95 years. Good for her. Hope all goes as smoothly as possible with the home selling.

40 people from your area! Wow, that is awesome. I will take all the cheering I can get. I am sure counting the days.

Jenntray, heard the walk went well and you raised lots of money and had a good time! Fantastic news!

Mary's eldest aunt passed away at the ripe old age of 95, but the 90 year old is safely moved now and doing better - in fact, quite well.  We've received a good offer of purchase on their home so are hoping to get that contract written and a settlement date soon. . . even though that means several trips to VA. to help empty the home!

Meanwhile, we saw Queen Latifah in concert and she was great. . . and we think the count of women from our area going on the Carib Dreams cruise is up to about 40 now!  That's a lot more women to cheer you on in Olivia Idol competitions!

She seemed quite "up". Her attitude is that she's going to fight this & win.

She has a great, positive attitude & that's a good start in beating this dreadful disease.

Donkeypal, thanks for the info about the breast cancer site. I wish you well in your fight against this disease. Brew, it is interesting that you mention Genia (rainbowfish). Tray and I are walking with her team, the purple bra brigade next weekend. The 12-14th of October in Atlanta. We are really looking forward to it. We both exceeded our fundraising requirment of $2200.00 each. I have to admit it was a little scary because you have to give your personal credit card to make up any you don't raise. But we have been fortunate and blessed and made our goal.

I lost a very dear friend of mine to breast cancer three years ago at the age of 49, and my best friend is a survivor. It touches us all in one way or another and we do need to band together and support the fight! I am proud to be walking on an out lesbian team working to end this horrible disease. I wish all of those suffering the best and we are walking for YOU!

I will let you guys know how it goes and hopefully we will be in touch more as the cruise gets closer. Cheers to all you wonderful, powerful women. I am glad to know you and look forward to seeing you all soon! ....Jen

I sent an email to the last email address I had for her following the cruise.  Hope she gets it and feels the love and support. . . . good for you to inform us so we can rally 'round one of our own. I think if I dig deep I may actually still have her mailing address, too. A dear, dear friend of ours here was just diagnosed as well and is scheduled for a lumpectomy tomorrow.  And I had a note from our cruise friend Ms. Collins who has been raising funds for her team's 3-day walk in Atlanta since just about cruise time (or shortly thereafter) too. . . there's a lot of people involved in caring about breast cancer awareness, treatment and support.  Hooray.  May a cure be found!
