Just Returned from the Danube -FANTASTIC!
08/09/2007, 9:16 PM

OMG!  We just returned from our "inspection" trip on the Danube, going the Nuremberg to Budapest route on the Viking Europe. There is so much to tell you about how incredibly rich this trip is.

I know many of you are about to get your air. Please, please PLEASE don't do this trip without going to Prague for our 3 day package, and staying for 3 more days in Budapest. You MUST do this.  We are finalizing hotels and tours, to be sure their was no overlap in Budapest.  We have tips for your tour while in Nuremberg for the day on the return from Prague, and there are sites you just cannot miss. In Budapest, there is just too much to do and see. The Chain Bridge has wonderful markets on the weekend and stays open until the late evening, there are incredible museums, opera houses, Parliament Center, Holocaust Museum and a very impressive Synagogue, and tours to the Heren Porcelin Factory (a must!)

This is going to be one of our best trips ever, and very soon I will be posting a Voice on this trip, highlighting each town we visit with photos, and posting a slide show.  In the meantime, if anyone as any questions about the trip., let us know!

Jill

"in German they take their  adjectives a step  further to describe their nouns...and  call you an "alte Zwiege" (an old goat) .."Affe" (an ape)  "Kamel" (camel)  "Elefant"  ... "

Well Northstar, I hope I have no need to use those on our cruise!!! Might use them around here sometimes though!!!

..what I like about German is that it's just so brazen and inflammatory!!.  Anyone who's heard of Haggis might agree that Scottish cooking is done on a dare.  I think German is fighting language.  We might call someone a "jerk"...in German they take their  adjectives a step  further to describe their nouns...and  call you an "alte Zwiege" (an old goat) .."Affe" (an ape)  "Kamel" (camel)  "Elefant"  ...

Our trip to Montreal is pleasure - it will be our third wedding anniversary. We were married in Vancouver in 2004. I'm sure others will join us on this board as time goes by. I think Prague sounds terrific. Fun to know the trip is wait list only.

Hello Martster. Glad you posted. We are really looking forward to this trip which will be our 7th Olivia.

Have you decided what you will do before/after the cruise? We're thinking of the Olivia pre cruise in Prague. They say they will post it in April & I'm sure it will sell out as fast as the cruise did. That's why I am starting research so early.

Hope you enjoy Montreal. Business or pleasure?

Yes I agree Bev & Susan. I never needed to speak German there before.
It's nice though to at least be able to say hello, goodbye, please & thanks in their language. They really appreciate that tourists try as we do in our country.

Nana
