Hi Inde,

I am home today nursing a minor injury, so I have had the time to figure out this new site.  It took awhile, but I think I got it.  Hello to you Inde, and all of our Hawaii "brokedeck" women, we look forward to seeing you in November at the Vallarta Palace. Now, let's see if I did this right, especially the picture...  I am soooo NOT techie...I still carry a Daytimer!  Love to all, Brenda (Ruthie and Brenda)

Yahoo finally found the ol site of info.  Now am getting spread out all over the place, takes some time to figure out this site, have to join every group to just communicate.  FYI for those that find this page and do not see the reply button, join then can reply.

So just stopping in to say howdy to those of you that made it too.  Now time to have a cold one!  Catch up with ya later!!

Hey OP3 Gals!!!

Welcome to the new folks!! :) Nice to have more chatter!

Melissa--thanks for the trip advisor reviews I enjoyed going through them.

Paz--glad you and your friends are with us.

Inde--lol.. put the fireworks down and back away slowly! Glad you girls are ok.
Sounds like a fun visit, did you take any pics?
If you can explain how to use and download to the kodak site I'm willing to try;no promises I'm computer challenged most of the time.

The fireworks here scared the crap out of my cats for the whole day. I was kinda worried for little kitty but he showed up the next day intact. Flash our other outdoor cat stayed in the gargage and hid. For most of the day and night it sounded like a war zone outside.

We got back from Waco TX on Sunday, we had a great visit with our Olivia friends. The rain even quit for us to go fishing on Saturday.
Most of the lakes there are closed due to flooding but we found one open  .

It was great to visit with friends wish we could have stayed longer.

So looking forward to Mexico!!!

I wanted to do the outdoor adventure, but part of that excursion includes rapeling (sp) and I don;t think Wendy will go for that; so zipline it is..

No waterpark for us--Wendy got really sick at one as a kid and barely will get into a pool. Waterparks are out.

We will go deep-sea fishing.

I'm wondering if our trip includes some of the free tours that the hotel usually offers. Anyone know?

Have a great day -

Hey All ... not sure what I want to do for activities on the trip. My vacations have typically been mountain vacations so I need to get my mind around a beach resort vacation.

BTW, TripAdvisor has ratings from previous travelers to Vallarta Palace at: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g154267-d154718-Reviews-Vallarta_Palace-Nuevo_Vallarta_Pacific_Coast.html

The ratings are overall very favorable!

Okay where was I, oh yes, the blow up our bodies. Ok, here is the scene, my block goes crazy with letting off fireworks, so Diane and i take a walk down the block and find a really cool launcher, so we grab it and walk back to the house. Now keep in mind that neither one of us knew that morters are built to come out of tubes specific for their size, dah. Ok, now I get it. The tubes we had were 1 1/2" and were blowing apart, so the 2" pvc tubes that we found, we thought, cool this will withstand the blast. Well, the container survived, but the morter ball came up and blasted out sideways, showering my friend and me with hot sparks. I got lucky, only got my leg in two spots, my buddy, Diane, well it hit her in the chest, lit her hair on fire and burned her face, worst under the lower lip. Her shirt had sulfer burns on it and put some holes in her t-shirt. Gads what an ordeal that was, would of loved to of been on the hillside watching the whole thing rather than being part of the big blowout. Luckily she was ok, well aside from her lower lip that is. I can laugh now, thinking back on it, both of us jumping around waving our arms, silly and crazy girls we were, or are. It will be a fourth that I will not forget.
Danger, danger, what out here comes INDE! lol
It sure was good to see her, will be traveling home in 3 weeks and will see her again, going home for a high school reunion, visit Mom and sister. Fun, fun. Hoping for a calm vacation, lol, that is just not me, what am I saying? Things always have to be memorable, sure this trip will be.

Welcome to the neewbies!! Paz an melissah!! Glad you joined in, this is a great way to know some folks b/4 the trip. Look forward to your ideas on what you gals are thinking of doing down there and what is going on where you are now. Usually we pick a spot to meet and greet, like the outside bar on the first day of the trip. There is the kodak site that we could post pics on of us and other cool things in our lives to share with the group here. I can get some stuff started and if anyone wants can go in there and post, it is secure and can only be viewed by our group. Do I here some takers?

Ok, yes to ziplining! Who else wanted to zipline?
How aboot scuba diving?
Yes, to the water park, who wanted to do that?

Well, it will be fun to get a group of us together to do some things, there will be so much to choose from and of course we will be meeting so many other people to go do stuff with, but it is nice to set some things up b/4 hand.

Ok, time is a ticking away and soon we will be off in wonderland, yippee!!

Have a great week catch ya all later!
Inde:)

Oh, so good to be back to the OP3 gals!! Had my best friend that I grew up with in town for a week and it has been go-go-go!! Whew, need a vacation now. lol. We went to the ocean, the outdoor/indoor market, known as the Pike Place market, visited the Snoqualmie Falls ( a very cool spot that is like the Niagra falls, but way smaller, still cool), went river rafting, watched the neighborhood blow themselves up for the fourth and more. My friend, Diane, had to get fireworks to let off, so we went shopping, got some goodies and started to let them off. Yikes, some were blow outs and we got some of the aftermath on our bodies.
Oh, gotta stop will come back.

Paz and Mare ... Thanks for the responses. I am getting really excited about the trip. I am sitting here in San Juan on a business trip as I write this. It's beautiful here and I have a great room overlooking the ocean and the beach. I have typically done mountain vacations rather than beach vacations so this is a great opportunity for me to start my packing list (bug spray, bug spray, bug spray ...)! Melissa

Hi Melissa... I wrote you a private e-mail.... and not unlike what Paz has said, you will not believe how easy it is to be solo on an Olivia vacation... in fact, you will forget that you are solo, cuz you will have sooo many girl friends... couples and singles!!! More later, Mare

Hey Melissa,
You are going to love your trip. Don't worry too much about going it alone. At least on the cruises they had daily singles socials plus there are all sorts of other activities to join in on. I'm sure it will be the same at the resort. For the most part, everyone is very friendly and approachable. Maybe someone who has travelled alone in the past has better info than me. Anyone???

New to Olivia! Hey everyone, I am a new Olivia traveler and will be on the Vallarta Palace trip. I have done a ton of solo business travel but this will be my first major trip as a solo. How in the world do I go about meeting people once I get to Vallarta Palace?
Thanks, Melissa

Hi Paz.... yes this ol' dear will be with you in the Mexican Vallarta Palace joint.... I have travelled in Mexico probably before "Olivia" was born.. but I think this trip will be neat. I look forward to meeting the rookies and the veterans on this vacation... find me somewhere in the resort... I will be known as "Scary Mary" or as "the ol' grey mare, she ain't what she used to be"!!!
Cheers, Mary

O.K., so I did a quick overview of previous posts and it became clear that Mary is a very traveled olivia veteran. Wow, she should have shares in the company by now. If I figured it out right, we were on the same Mexican Riviera cruise in 2005, or maybe I have the wrong year. Anyhow, I am really looking forward to getting away on a holiday and hopefully meeting up with some of you fun gals down there.
