Hi Joski,
I thought this was connect. I see another Alaska section, with just a few postings. How do I find Olivia Connect site?
Thanks
Morgan

Just aheads up for all; we purchased wine and liqour cards through the Holland. They are essentially prepaid drinks without the 15% gratuity tacked on and found this helped with our on board tab significantly.

Since this was a last minute decision for us, we are frantically reading and trying to learn all we can.

Anyone taking the train from Seattle up to Vancouver on the 8th? Would love to connect and meet some new Olivia faces!

Hello all.... for those of you who are planning to come to Vancouver a few days earlier, you may want to consider a side trip to Whistler for a couple of nights. A local B.C. travel company has sent me a list of some of their great "travelbestbets.com". On the list was a round trip special to Whistler for 2 nights. Included are travel by train/return... 2 nights hotel, gondola ride up Whistler mtn., zip trek eco tour and Spa treatment(facial & massage)plus transfers to/from train station. Best bet price of $749.00 Can.per person, plus taxes. There are other options for Whistler/Blackcomb as well. Just enter the web address and click of the specials. Offer good to July 31st for travel into October of this year.
Happy July 4th to all of you south of the border..... Cheers, Mary

Hi Ladies... this is Mary from Nanaimo, B.C. and this gal is coming with ya on this Alaska cruise! I will talking to 3 others here to get them to come along as well.
If I may suggest when you come to Van. and you can manage a few extra days a great excursion to do would be an overnite trip to Whistler. Both bus and train go there and it is an incredibly beautiful trip. The town is only a couple of hours away by car. I lived in Whistler for 15 years prior to moving to Nanaimo in 2001 and I never tired of the trip to Van. when I came down to visit family, etc. Take the train one way and the bus the other... doesn't matter which way. It is shoulder season in Sept., so the hotel rates should be pretty reasonable. One can take the gondola or chair lift up either Whistler or Blackcomb mountains and the view up there is beaut. In 2010 Van/Whistler will be hosting the winter olympics and you will be able to say you checked it out in 2007!!! I think the web site is under the "Whistler Resort Assoc." or something like that.... Cheers, Mary

I am from Ketchikan, but live in Sitka now. Lodestarak , great job describing area. In Sept. you will lucky to catch a glimps of the sun in Ketchikan, although it IS possible. If EVERYONE brings rain gear...it should sunshine! :) Murphys Law! Sitka is definitely a nicer , but smaller place to live.

My partner and I did this trip in 2005. Do not miss the female Russian Dancers in Sitka!!!!!

There are motor coaches that leave from Seward by 8:00 AM - after the ship docks there on the morning of departure. The ride is long (about 3-4 hours), but beautiful. Much wildlife!

thanks for the reply cinmax...I looked and looked in the "old posts" for the answer, I knew we were not the first to wonder about this. Then, two days after your answer a long email from Olivia explaining all those details. Guess I should be more patient. peace all.....
