Except for the name the story is the same!
In checking out the "new" Lesbian Travel Company 'Sweet' - there really is nothing all that new about them. They mostly appear to be a carbon copy!
Most of the company is made up of ex-Olivia employees. And, except for one or two of the entertainers - all the rest are/were on Olivia trips.
On Olivia the singles are solos and on Sweet - they're single sweeties. I wouldn't doubt that Sweet will fashion their shows and pool/beach games, ect. just like Olivia.
Sweet says they offer a more affordable price for their trips - not that much of a difference really. Besides Olivia uses better ships and the cabins are bigger - so you really get a better deal in terms of price per sq. foot.
Olivia has always offered a Commitment Ceremony and at no charge! Sweet is offering group Commitment Ceremony packages starting at $65.
They're having a Sweet Sweat Bootcamp - Olivia's already done that, with Jackie Warner from the Bravo show "Workout"
I have read a few articles on how Sweet is giving back to communities in the ports they visit and doing volunteer work. Now don't get me wrong, as helping out in the world is a great thing - just don't advertise like you’re the only one who has ever done it or like it's something new & it's your idea. Oh, and one must pay for the "volunteer excursions" to do the volunteer work on Sweet.
Olivia has been doing volunteer work for years. In fact just recently a friend of mine who took Olivia's 35th Anniversary Cruise told me this: "I was on a cruise recently that did that. Women brought tons of donations & supplies, suitcases full of toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoos, soaps, medical supplies, crayons, pencils, pencil sharpeners, notebooks, toys, balls, sports equipment, balloons and on and on. Supplies were sorted into cartons for the teachers and individual Ziploc bags for the kids. It was an awesome site to see!!
There were so many supplies – that the ship had to crate things and have them tendered ashore. And a lot of women also took supplies with them and had donations sites and individuals to hand supplies out too. The total count was up in the thousands of items donated. That was for the town of Samana, Dominican Republic on the Olivia Cruise in November 2008." And, they didn't have to pay to do the volunteer work.
Sweet this past Feb. 09 started a 'Forum' on their web site - not many posting, maybe 1 or 2 per week, if that. But now they've changed that topic heading to say 'Connect'. Hey! that sounds just like what Olivia has been using for a long time!
Now here's why I started to write all this. Back in April, Olivia announced that Good Vibrations & Dr. Carol Queen, Sexologist - would be joining the Caribbean Halloween Cruise and would do Good Vibrations’ sex seminars.
Now, on June 30th Sweet announced that they were having Babeland on their Caribbean Cruise in November to do sex workshops.
I really was looking at doing the cruise with Sweet because I have some friends who are going.
But after checking them out - come on Sweet - get a life of your own. Or at least an original idea!
Sweet - you've really left a Sour taste in my mouth!!
